In 1986, Heidi Hubner established Wallace Galleries in downtown Calgary. With a love for Canadian arts, she focused the gallery’s exhibitions and artists on her fellow creative Canadians. “I grew up around artists and art,” recalls Colette Hubner, Heidi's daughter. “I put myself through university at this gallery and afterwards I just wanted to continue with it. My mother wanted to promote and share the Canadian art and culture that she loves so much.”
Like many art forms, paintings are a valuable means of looking into both the past and future of Canadian culture. From upcoming artists to established names and historical greats, Wallace Galleries Calgary features work by some of Canada's best artists.
