Nestled amid the yachts and seaplanes of Coal Harbour Marina, Cardero’s Restaurant is as famous for its expansive views of Burrard Inlet, Coal Harbour, Stanley Park, and the North Shore Mountains as it is for its fresh seafood entrees and its curated wine list (which boasts some excellent B.C. wines, such as Burrowing Owl and Painted Rock Estate winery).
On any given night of the week, the year-round patio, as well as the restaurant and pub inside, are packed with regulars, locals and visitors. Cardero’s has many long time regulars , says manager Ronnie Teti. He speaks fondly of Jack, who comes in twice a day and orders the same dish: cedar plank salmon and ice cream for dessert. “Once in awhile he deviates and will order a steak or lamb,” Ronnie quips. “He also gets very offended if his “seat” is taken.”
While many Vancouver locals consider the restaurant a second home of sorts, Cardero's is also a popular choice among visiting tourists, including popular film and television actors and musicians. Those who are curious about the restaurant's A-list guests can look to the wall of celebrity autographs where famous faces like Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn, Bono and Liam Neeson have all left their mark.

Food is delicious and waiters are amazing ! But the staff at the front hostess desk are awful ! They are so rude and condescending ! Don’t let the first people that greet you or answer the phone give the wrong impression Hire people that pre polite and friendly !!
Update for review on Jan 16 visit. Craig, the general manager, left me a voicemail with an authentic and sincere message acknowledging the poor seating arrangement. I really appreciated the time taken to follow up.
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. 2 thumbs up!
The great location with a tasty food.
When I go to Vancouver, I go to Cardero s. Great food and good people.
Good ambiance, great service. Seafood entrees are a bit on the pricey side, but then again, it's an upscale bar / restaurant. The pub fare (burgers, sandwiches) are more reasonable priced. I had the spaghetti bolognese. One of the best I've had, but wished they gave me a slightly larger portion.
Nice view, good food, best service, peaceful mood. everything's perfect for me.
Hanging out from the seawall in Coal Harbour is Cardero's Restaurant and Marine Pub, We always seem to end up here when we have people from out of town who want to go out to dinner. They're a good restaurant but I think they benefit a lot from their location. The last time we were here we had one of the wok's and the tuna and were underwhelmed to say the least. The pub is fun and they have neat marine artifacts in there but forget about enjoying yourself if you plan on going there on a weekend evening. Its small, cramped and they put way too many people waiting for tables in there. Cardero's is a good Vancouver destination restaurant but there are many better ones out there.

Nestled amid the yachts and seaplanes of Coal Harbour Marina, Cardero's offers spectacular views of the local mountains and Burrard Inlet. Choose from a selection of freshly grilled fish, or try the juicy wild salmon baked on a cedar plank in a wood-burning oven. Other favourites are grilled steaks, wok squid and wood-oven pizzas. Sample some of the many B.C. wines (offered by the glass or bottle) or try the diverse selection of beer.

Look out at the boats and the mountains, then look down at your plate and marvel. This is seafood par excellence, with Oceanwise fish and delicious recipes. The location gives it a romantic, out-of-the-way feel, and there’s live music to boot. All in all, this is my favourite Coal Harbour spot.
