In 1947, the concept of Devil's Elbow Lodge became a reality when Carson (Pete) and Florence Johns began construction of the facilities in an old bull pasture on Sharrow Lake. It has been under continuous operation and management by the Johns family since its inception.Devils' Elbow Lodge has grown from its humble beginnings to a central lodge, 9 cottages and a recreation room. Sharrow Lake is a small secluded lake without dwellings not connected to the Johns family.Each cottage accommodates up to 6 persons, and consists of a combined living room/kitchen and 2 bedrooms. All are equipped for complete housekeeping (with the exception of linens); and utilize propane stoves, lamps, refrigerators and heaters.
