The automotive service department is the absolute worst. They are incompetent, have zero credibility and are lacking in integrity.
My experience:
We set up an appointment in September to get my winter tires on in October as there's always a rush in the Fall. When we got there, we waited three hours when they told us it would be about an hour only to have them tell us that they sold the rims that we ordered to someone else. They told us that they would give us a discount for our trouble but didn't have another appointment for two weeks.
Two weeks later they again told me it would be an hour to get them out on. Two and a half hours later they were done. When we got the bill there was no discount and when I inquired they said that they couldn't give me one.
A couple weeks later I realized that they installed one of the directional tires the wrong way on the wheel. When I went in to get it changed around they told me it would be about 35 minutes to change it (this estimate was pretty specific so I was getting hopeful). After 1:40 mins they were finally done.
In total I spent 7:10 waiting for Canadian tire to install winter tires. I get the impression that they just don't care because they are too big to fail. Their inability to provide a realistic estimate on how long service will take makes them have no credibility. Their stating that they will provide a discount and then not providing one means they have no integrity. And their improperly installing my tire means they have no competency. I highly recommend that this location be avoided. There are several good automotive garages in Collingwood. That would be happy to work hard for your business.
It is unfortunate that you had this much trouble and bad service - we take a lot of pride in serving our customer's with prompt efficient service so I would like you to contact me directly and see if I can trace the events and make things right. We do not think "it doesn't matter because we are so big"- totally the opposite. If a credit is due I will make it happen. Sometimes new staff can be overwhelmed during the busy tire season and that may be what you ran into this past fall. We are growing because of our great service and competent techs so please feel free to contact us and we'll make it right.
