Loved the food, the friendliness and the service of staff. I have returned several times since my first visit and recommended to friends.
Worst customer service. My colleague and I reached the restaurant at 7:45 PM last night. Upon arrival we patiently waited for 5 minutes before we were greeted by the server. His attitude was obnoxious and he seemed irritated to see us. When we asked if there was availability, he told us that the two empty tables that we saw were reserved and that we could wait to see if the reservations showed up. After waiting 15 min outside, a table of 6 people had finished their meal and left. We decided to
Found this place on the Internet and I'm glad I did. We're from Toronto, visiting a friend in Ancaster and wanted to take him out for dinner. The three of us agreed that the food was wonderful and the service very good. We certainly will return. Eventually, I'd like to try everything on the menu. LJS
To be honest, I went to this place with great expectations, the younger ladies were really welcoming and nice the older lady seemed quite upset to see me,she spoke with me in a derogatory way, wasn't helpful with the menu...The worse part of my visit was when she coughed directly facing some customers food without covering her mouth and proceeded to serve them the food , she had coughed directly on her palms earlier while taking my order, there was no indication that she washed her hands afterwards(maybe she did at some point ). The food was plain with little seasoning, no veggies just carbs and more carbs.
I've visited La Spaghett with my wife several times and this is one of our favourite places to eat. I've been meaning to write a review for a long time. The food has been fantastic each time we've been here. The wait staff have always been great. The staff have been serving customers for a long time. They know exactly how much attention guests need. They don't hover around your table (they're to busy for that), yet they're there when you need something. Everything is homemade and if you want a variation of something on the menu, they are happy to accommodate. I love knowing that when I go there the food will be great. I haven't been disappointed yet. The Mulders
Amazing food. Many pasta dishes to choose from. Good portion sizes. Great fresh bread with Garlic spread. Be sure to make reservations, we waited over an hour for a Tuesday, but worth it!
My husband & I are always looking for new places to dine out. Based on positive reviews, we decided to take a chance and celebrated our 22nd anniversary there last weekend. We can't wait to go back. We were able to get an 8:30 reservation but had to wait a few minutes for a table because the restaurant was still full but it was worth the wait. Our only disappointment was the French Beaujolais that they list on the website menu is no longer available.
I find it hard to eat Italian food at a restaurant because the sauce is never fresh, but this was not the case at La Spaghett. You get to pick the type of pasta you would like, and then your sauce. The pasta and sauce were absolutely delicious, so fresh and perfectly seasoned.... I was in pasta heaven! I cannot wait to go back!
From start to finish everything was absolutely perfect. Reservations are recommended, and really are a must. You simply can't walk in and expect a table. From drinks to dinner everything was prompt, perfect and above expectations. The portions are generous and were beautifully plated, each in the party had a different dinner selection and everything was served at one time. I/we will be back! A great night was had by all.
If you are searching for a new restaurant to try out, you have found it. It was my first time at La Spaghett last night and I was very impressed. The space is quite limited (30 or so) so I made reservations but I saw some people coming in after that still got seating. It is a smaller than usual place, however it sits very confortably. The service was fast, and great timing: bread, appetizers, pause, pasta. I normally hate it when places bring out the food and then the appetizers. Overall definitely an excellent find for g/f and I.
The food here is phenomenal. Simply put. I have eaten at many restaurants and this one is above and beyond any other Italian eatery I have been to. Yes it is small, I call it quaint...lol. But seriously, try this place, you will NOT be disappointed. As long as they are open I will continue to go. :0)
Really don't know what all the fuss is about concerning this restaurant. First off the place is not just small but extremely small. We like a place with a lil elbow room. If you like that sardine stuffed into a can feeling than this place is for you! We however find it unpleasant. The waitress had manners but no personality whatsoever. After everything we said the only phrase she knew was "thank you". After a while it felt like we were talking to a robot... As for the food:the garlic soup wasnt bad but the garlic bread tasted very bland, which was a surprise for an Italian restaurant. The penne in meat sauce was ok but we were expecting it to taste a heck of a lot better. As a couple of Italian background we know great Italian food and were very disappointed by this place. Better options out there.
Simply put, there is nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I am continually impressed. The food is generously proportioned and always fresh. The one bone I'd pick (if I HAD to pick one) would be that it is a very small restaurant and could use more seating.
We went because of the reviews on this site. We were not disappointed, but we made reservations and were glad we did. The food was amazing and the portions are very generous. That is all I can say. The restaurant is very small but I think that adds to the quaintness of the place. It didn't feel cramped, just small. They really could use one more staff member out on the floor. The waitress was very nice however. On another note, PLEASE don't take your small children here. People come to this type of restaurant for the atmosphere as well as the food. A crying child totaly ruins it for everyone else in the place. I found a babysitter and so can you.
Great little spot. Cozy, friendly atmosphere. Food is made from scratch and tasty. What is especially nice is they offer home made gluten free pasta that has a good texture and tastes good. Would be nice if they could add a couple more meat dishes to the menu, but what they make is prepared well.
Large party for a family function. We took up almost the whole restaurant, as it is very small. Very cozy and nice atmosphere. Service as not very good. Server was unapologetic that the food was slow coming out of the kitchen...perhaps they were unused to a large number of orders entering the kitchen at the same time. Overall very pleasant, I may return with my wife.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. You will not be disappointed. I would suggest a reservation as they are often very busy and there is no where to wait for a table
I love the atmosphere of this place! What a hidden jem! We ordered a bottle of Barbara D'Asti (offered on the wine list but not available that night). Food was amazing, starting from a unique take on bruschetta, followed by 2 delicious pasta dishes. (Blue cheese sauce with linguini, and chicken Caccitori). Service could have been more attentive, but the food more than makes up for it. Always a pleasure to dine here!
I frequent this little "kitchen away from home" on a monthly basis. It is as close as I can come to Nonna's cooking, while in Canada. I recommend the Bruschetta to start, especially since those tomatoes are marinated in some beautiful concoction of a glorious vinaigrette (home secret, I hear). It doesn't quite matter what you order for your meal because no matter what, you will find everything as fresh, and flavorful as a crisp spring morning. Now for the best part....dessert! I cannot stress the importance of saving room for this little hidden gem...the epidemy of perfection....the most tantalizing creamy PEANUT-BUTTER PIE that has ever graced my lips, has to be the sole purpose for existence. You think I am exaggerating, but until you invite a fork full of this heavenly sweet into your mouth, you will NEVER understand! Thank you for...well just BEING La Spaghett!
I guess I'm in the minority, but I was unimpressed. I found the menu limited, unless you wanted pasta, there were no other dishes I would expect at an Italian restaurant, like veal.... The food was just ok, the atmosphere lousy.. cramped, noisy and not that well decorated.
