    Beer & burgers

The Morrissey House is a staple for good beer and good food in London - one of those places you can recommend to others with confidence. In the summer there is a nice, large patio where you can enjoy a good beer, cider or cocktail. The Morrissey has some good items on their menu, but some of my tried and true favourites are their burger and the mussels. Good selection of Ontario craft brew and a few macro-brewery standards. Service is friendly, but this is a pub with a loyal following and if you aren't a regular, you can feel a little like an outsider.

    Great all around!!

Warm and welcoming. The short ribs are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Great staff make a real difference.. Even my kids love it there. A must-try.

    Everyone's Taste

You could be forgiven for walking past Morrissey House, a drab facade set back from the street, unaffected by a mural of Sir Winston Churchill on a side wall, but if you are looking for well-cooked food and a home-like atmosphere please stop by. The menu has something for everyone’s taste, from sandwiches and burgers, braised beef short ribs, lemon pepper pickerel, jambalaya, etc. It was our intention to try the fish and chips — I am unsure if this restaurant wishes to become famous for its fish and chips but, for us, this dish is second to none ... especially if accompanied with a good lager. We were very grateful for Mark’s helpful advice regarding the draft and micro-brew beers. The samples provided were a useful education ... and we chose the Mill Street Organic Lager. On a later visit we tried a delicious Lomita Burger, distinctive by the addition of a fried egg (try it) but the Fish-n-chips got a failing grade this time (different cook, perhaps) the batter was so thick that it (the batter) was uncooked inside.

    Great Breakfast Gem

This is the place if your looking for stuffed French toast. To me its like a hybrid breakfast-dessert, rich and decadent combination of cream cheese and raspberry puree. Many options to choose, from your standard lumber jack style breakfast feast to brunch sandwich items. I'm a fan of southwestern cuisine so I much enjoyed the lomito burger with its savory chipotle sauce. The service is friendly and the place has true character against the chain food establishments.

We need More "mo" in this city

As the title says, we simply need more places like this in London. The owner, Mark, has created a welcoming environment that all types of people feel comfortable in. It is one of the few places in the city that I'll be at for a night on the town with friends one week and then grab a beer at with my parents the next. After the atmosphere, the beer selection is the definitely highlight. The rotating Ontario Craft Brew offers a taste of all sorts of brews that are not found at the LCBO. The menu has a range of options for all tastes. Although the food isn't always consistent, it is clearly made in-house and is above average in terms of pub-fare. All of the helpings are generous and offer great value. The only subpar dish I've tried is the veggie sandwich/burger. This is not a prententious "gastro-pub" for foodies, nor is it a party bar for the richmond row crew. It is simply a welcoming and comfortable place to come for a drink and some good food with friends
