It's all Italian all the time at this quirky new joint - the Financial District followup to the Square One success story — where communal tables spill over with folks as enthusiastic for the company they keep as the vittles they share with them. In allegiance with true Italian fashion, freshness is critical to the Scaddabush menu, and the preoccupation shows itself in everything from the homemade pasta to the prepared-daily mozzarella. Inspired by Italian passion and generosity, Scaddabush is a place to gather with friends and family for delicious food and good times. On their Winterlicious menu you’ll find options like mushroom and sherry soup; crusted snapper; and a chocolate jar cake with homemade sponge toffee, vanilla whipped cream, candied walnuts and sea salt.
Inspired by Italian passion and generosity, Scaddabush likes tables crowded with friends and family, offers style without attitude, and prides itself on its excellent cuisine. Determined to provide a variety of dishes while continuing to emphasize a fresh take on Italian cuisine, they offer a Winterlicious lunch menu replete with warm olives and grilled focaccia, Italian burgers, cavatappi sorrentina (pasta served with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, spicy poor man’s parmesan and arugula) and chocolate jar cake.
The meatballs at this Italian kitchen on Yonge Street are a serious endeavour. The half-pound balls — made with fresh ground chuck, ricotta cheese and parsley — are marinated with garlic, black pepper, porcini mushrooms and olive oil. The balls then simmer in a slow-cooked tomato sauced laced with parmesan and pancetta. The flavourful morsels (available in classic style or stuffed with peperoni and mozzarella) are served straight up, on a bun or atop a plate of fresh spaghetti.
