Though it be small, the selection of kombucha flavours is wide at this cute little health food store in the Kensington Market. They offer a variety of different brands, great for those who are feeling adventurous with their juice and are always on the go. I would definitely recommend the mango or peach kombucha from Tonica, a brand brewed and bottled in Toronto and – fun fact – featured in an episode of Dragon’s Den.
Head over to Kensington Avenue, where you can stock up on more than just spices. This bulk store carries mainly dried fruits, nuts and grains, and, yes, spices too. It’s modelled more closely to Bulk Barn, with scoops, bins and baggies so you can shop with your eyes, not just your wallet. So, if you’re in the mood for spelt in your waffles or flax on your cereal, this is the place to find it.
Those shoppers in the know realize that Tutti Fruitti is the place to go for the best prices. It’s been around for a while, and is known for its extensive bulk department and wide range of tea offerings. It doesn’t offer any fresh produce, but the prices for everything else are often much lower than nearby competition.
