Just order 2 falafel from this place and with my order coke with any sides I choose to put like salads and more. I asked for tahini sauce on the side instead of putting on my sandwich. I was told I had to extra to the sauce on the side even though I already paid to any sides put in my falafel sandwich. The service at this place horrible and obnoxious. They wanted me to pay for something I already paid for. Aside from poor service and food being sometimes poor quality I also notice some unsani
Great food and consistent quality over the years.I exeperince very nice and friendly service, the place always looks clean and neat. I love this reastaurant!
The staff is very friendly, courteous, and knowledgable when it come to the food they sell and offer. I always eat at sofra because we believe it's one of the best places to eat chicken shawarma sandwiches and dinners. We get take out from there at least once a month and we recommend this restaurant to all our family and friends.
The service is terrible. Right at the beginning ordering my food I told the man that my card's chip was not working but he insisted and just continued on ignoring me. Finally when it came to punch in my PIN I told him the PIN is not working - and then he understood. After the initial impression of him gone sour (consequently the place) the prices were not cheap here, they were steep. $14.99 for a white steak entree, and $13.99 for a Manti (Turkish Ravioli). The only reason this place is or can be packed is because they are near York University is my guess. This is the worst Turkish place I've been to from the many I've been to. Turkish places are usually excellent in customer service and food (in my previous experiences). Avoid this one though. I'm not sure why they have a waitress if the ordering is done at the counter. We didn't get any appetizers that are common (like bread or something). Just an odd place.
oh no stomach ache and very bad stomach ensued after my visit. Not worth going because the service and atmosphere aren't good. The food isn't even cheap anymore.
In the heart of Thornhill Woods I love eating at Sofra Grill. Although the service is just alright the food and location are great. From appetizers, to entrees to dessert I truly enjoy going to Sofra. The food is well priced and the portions are large. I love their lamb kebab and Jerusalem mix (must try). They have good appetizers. If you want to save money order the sampler plate which offers 3 salad for around $9. Overall, good value for the money.
We try to get up north to Sofra Grill every couple of months. They are busy, the take-out line is always moving. The server was all business, very efficient. The steak is always cooked perfectly, when I ask for medium rare, I get it. Great charred bbq taste. The chunks of beef are very generous. The baba ganoush is sweet, creamy and fresh. Recently, they have reduced the size of the fallafel balls, they are still excellent, crispy outside, moist on the inside, spiced perfectly. The fried eggplant is a bit oily, but so good. Parking is free and plentiful.
I think sofra is a great representation of mid eastern cuisine, and they have quality food and great prices!
I say: I'm sad because they were supposedly cheap and have good food. Clearly my neighbour has no clue been married too long to know food. Food: supposed to have the best Israeli and falafel and the biggest portion but all quality must have slid downhill. It wont be one of my favourites. Atmosphere: Take out / quick bite. Typical Israeli joint restaurant - overdecorated with tacky displays.
