Cannot find a lunch menu on your website. It only shows specials. Since we wanted take-out and cant see what is offered we have to go elsewhere. Please fix your website so lunch me u is displayed. Thanks
I ordered the quesadilla lunch special, when it came it was cold, also had over half a red onion thickly sliced thrown in it. There was no cheese and it was all falling apart. I expressed my disappointment, once a manger came to our table she began to argue with me questioning and arguing with me about how much I had ate and asking me why I didn’t expres my thoughts when the the waitress when asked. I was in shock that a manger was arguing with me telling me that I was essentially wrong
Waitress was not excited to greet you and serve food! Ordered the 10 once prime rib with French fries and veggies. Prime rib was tasteless and tough! Veggies were not hot and little under cooked overall very disappointed !! Would not recommend!!
Big portions, great staff and great prices too!
had the fish and chips because of good friday, great food and great service
My favourite at this Restaurant is their Roast Beef Au Jus Sandwich. The last two times I ordered it was surprised they reduced the amount of Roast Beef and the Jus is different and has no flavour.
It was very nice and clean inside. When we were greeted by the hostess she was yawning, must of been up late the night before. I would say not a good first impression. I watched her the entire meal and she continued yawning. I am sure she did not want to be there. We ordered the food, the waitress was good, when it arrived the toast was cold, ham had no flavour , and the sausage looked like mush inside a casing. I guess the reason people like it here is because of serving sizes. I definitly will not be back. There are better places to go for a good meal
Hands down - the best place for Breakfast in Kitchener Waterloo. Fast, Friendly service. Great spot for a business lunch as well. My favorite spot.
I found this place a true disappointment. We can understand a wait for seating, as we were 7 people (two separate families with young children). We waiting 45mins, finally someone comes out (were were the only people waiting at this point and it was getting close to 7:40pm), said the table was paying and it'll be available shortly, 10mins later after that seated. We got seated, orders were taken quickly. Our side of the table ordered garlic bread, which came out before the drinks were served. Drinks had to be asked to be refilled, plates from the garlic bread not taken away and left there at the end of the table. On a plus side, kids got their food first. I ordered the liver and bacon, very underseasoned and I love liver and bacon as a treat when eating out. Food was okay, but nothing spectacular. Slow to get drink refills, slow to bring the check and even the ice cream to go had taken a good 5mins to be brought to the table. We didn't bother to tip, we didn't even get asked at any point during the meal if everything was alright. Won't be back again.
I used to love this place, for their burgers. Then they changed their menu and their burgers are not as good anymore, not sure what happened? They charge a dollar to add their signaure djon sauce too, this sauce used to come with the banquet burger in the old menu. So I am not fond of them as much because of their changes. I hate when restuarants change a good thing.
Was a little turned off by last review but after visiting I realized it must have been from competitors. The place is well kept, clean and brimming with cheerfulness. No issues with food, all was wonderful and will visit again for sure!!
We went to Jack’s yesterday for breakfast (around 10:30 am) and sat there for 12 mins – no one came to serve us, not even coffee. They weren’t that busy, waitresses around serving food and did not even acknowledge us and we were left waiting. Enough is enough, after the waitress approached another couple who were there after us, we decided to leave. If Jack’s doesn’t even know what is proper customer service…they won’t last! This is not the first time we were there, we have been kept waiting quite a few occasions. We headed to Harvest Moon for breakfast and were served immediately! Nice breakfast and much better price also.
Jack's is a good family restaurant. Come prepared to wait a bit because there is almost always a good sized line-up especially on market days. The atmosphere was trendy and the seating comfortable. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and the Italian poutine. My grandma ordered the fish and chips and enjoyed it thoroughly. The portion sizes were bigger than I expected and their menu is extensive! I really liked our waitress as she went out of her way to accommodate us. I hope they keep up the good service so they stay in business.
One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Steaks weren't properly cooked, fish was soggy and fries were overcooked. When we complained, while the waitress was apologetic and polite about it, the food took fifteen minutes to come back and had clearly just sat under the heatlamp for a long time. On the inside it's a pretty depressing-looking place that looks straight out of the mid-80s. Neither my family or I would ever come back here again
We visited on a very busy Saturday night, while in town for a business meeting followed with a show at the playhouse next door. The food was fantastic and arrived quickly and piping hot. Everything from the appetizers to the obviously homemade pies was spot on. The restaurant is very clean and bright and we received flawless service from our very personable server (Mandy?), who was very attentive to our needs and had personality plus, plus, plus. Fabulous overall and would highly recommend.
We were skeptical to visit after reading the reviews but decided to check it out ourselves. Glad we did. Staff were friendly, nice atmosphere and nothing offensive on the tv's (as a previous reviewer mentioned). I was slightly disappointed by the spinach dip. I'm a big an usually and I always order it as my app. The one seemed to have too many onions it it and was very salty. I was also disappointed by the size. I read in a previous review that the spinach dip was large enough to feed 4-5 hungry people. Nope. I am not a large person by any means and I could have finished it on my own. It's no larger than any other restaurants dip.
This was our 2nd visit to Jack's, and despite the other negative revies, we were just as impressed today as we were on our previous visit. Food was great - It was lunch time, but I was craving breakfast so I ordered a basic breakfast which came with over easy eggs (perfect!) sausage (decent) and upgraded to multigrain toast which was good and well worth the extra 50 cents....we both really liked the shredded hash browns - you don't see those at many places anymore...I was a bit disappointed that they won't allow you to add onions to them (even for a charge) but it didn't exactly ruin my day. My fiance had a chicken wrap which I tried a bite of...delicious and very fresh-tasting! It was a special so it also came with soup which was very tasty and obviously home-made. Accompanying potato salad - still the BEST I have ever had! (sorry Mom!) Service was wonderful from Kelly-Ann...prompt and very wecoming and friendly. For two meals and two (non-alcoholic) drinks just over 20...not bad! We will be back again for sure and hope to get the same great food and service we have experience in our two visits so far! PS - they seem to have taken care of the fly problem - we didn't see a single one, despite the fact that doors were being held open continously by patrons waiting for a table.
I visited this new restaurant with my fiance and his mother. It was extremely busy! Had to wait for a table which we did not mind at all... Service was spot on from our petite redhead server (I believe her name was Lori) and we never waited very long for anything we requested. I admit I was being a bit annoying asking for extra this and that, napkins, refills...I wasn't trying to be!!! Anyways, she was as pleasant as could be and very efficient! It was very clear that she was busy as it was packed but she was amazing and very professional. The menu is very similar to that of Fifties, Angels and Fireside, but from what I understand the owners used to be partners at Fifties and Angels or somthing like that...no matter.....it's a good menu with something for everyone, including breakfast options until 2pm every day! I had a REALLY difficult time choosing what to have, so now I have to go back and try the other things I wanted! lol We shared the spinach dip appetizer, which was piping hot, to our surprise, and very enjoyable....note, you probably need *at least* 3 hungry people if you are sharing this - it is big enough for 4 or 5! For mains we ordered a taco salad, omelette and burger of some sort that was on special... everything was enjoyed by all, and such large portions that we took 4 boxes of food home!!! We also ordered a side of their potato salad on the reccomendation of a friend - very tasty, and HUGE portion...most also came home with us but has since been devoured! lol All in all, off to a good start....but let's face it, it's easy to accomplish that - it will be interesting to see what happens once the "New Restaurant" buzz wears off....but if you keep up the good work, I promise we will be regulars for life!!!
