The townsite of Rocanville and a CPR station were first surveyed in 1902. The railroad reached Rocanville in 1903, bringing settlers who flooded in, increasing the population from 83 to 450 by 1920. The town of Rocanville, incorporated in 1904, was named for our first postmaster Rocan de Bastien, becoming the Overseer of the village in 1904. more... See more text
