Good food..but the service is awful. The servers rolled their eyes as soon as they saw a family with a baby. Used to do a lot of takeout from Piri piri. Never going there again, just bad attitude from the 2 servers. Definitely not a family friendly place.
We tried it for the first time, and ordered the Arroz de marisquo (Seafood Rice Stew). One plater was enough for two adults and one child age 12 and there was still leftover for at least one more person. really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was really polite. will definitely comeback again.
My halibut tasted good, although my gf's sea bream was a bit dry and completely burned on the outside. Both dishes came with two boiled potatoes and a bunch of plain beans with broccoli. We've found the garnish to be way too simple for $20 dishes. Overall, the dishes tasted good, but way too expensive for what they were. It was something that I would have done on a Tuesday night at home if I was feeling lazy, not something I would pay over $20 for. We won't be coming back for this reason.
Great place, good food!
We were all hyped for the Portuguese menu, piri-piri chicken, cod, goat, it all sounded so good. My mother-in-law had the bacalhau (grilled salt cod), both my wife and father-in-law ordered the roast veal and I had the piri-piri chicken. The portion sizes were very large but the veal was dry and tasted like it had been sitting a long time in a steam line and the cod was so salty that between us we could only eat half of it and my mother-in-law is from NFLD so she knows her salt cod. My chicken on the other hand was absolutely scrumptious. It was juicy and seasoned perfectly. Over all I was the only person who left the restaurant happy.
I love the Piri Piri. We portugeese know how to do food and me and my wife take the little ones when she needs a break from the kitchen. It is great getting good foodin and lotsa spice i say. My wife and kidds love it. finger licking good sausage and chicken.
