Great food! I loved their meatball and cheese fritter appetizers so much. I don't order steak, but I had some great fish, and my boyfriend loved the steak. Delicious and unique. Only thing I did not love was the choice of deserts. While the cherry ravioli was nice it isn't my type of desert. Service was great 3 out of 3 times I've been there and the one time our salads were missed and the food was slow our desserts were comped. The roti here is spectacular. They have goat, beef, chicken, veggie, etc.. Just enough heat in the curry, great potatoes, huge portions. So much flavor. It is the best roti I've had, period. The jerk chicken dinner is also very good. That being said, I have heard some horror stories about the cleanliness of this place. I love that the owner has decorated the place to make it seem like a cultural oasis in an extremely white city, but it just NEEDS TO BE CLEANER. I don't want it yuppiefied. So, stick to food that has high turnover, like the roti. The uniqueness and quality of the take out at a place like this is something that I would actually miss if I moved away from peterborough. That is saying something. The food is the only reason it is worth risking eating at a place that looks like it could not pass a health inspection. Read more

Went here for my birthday dinner with the family and I have to say it was an amazing meal! We all ordered different items off the menu and I think the staff thought we were crazy because we were trying each other's food, but I have everything was so tasty! The vegetarian main had many different elements to it and all were delicious, the mushroom tarte, steak frites and soup were great. Our waiter was very friendly and overall I would say the atmosphere is inviting. I consider this restaurant a little bit pricey, but perfect for a special occasion and worth the money. Read more

My wife and I have gone to Flippers for 25 years and we simply love it there. We get really well treated. Mostly because we are regulars and are very nice to the staff and we tip extremely well (sometimes 30% of total bill) The meals are exceptional, the service is wonderful and we have often taken people with us, who have become clients of Flippers on their own. When we leave the restaurant we compare notes and my wife and I normally say how wonderful everything was. It is one of our faourites in Ottawa. Read more

After shopping a friend and I decided we were having a fish and chip craving so we decided to try the Bells Corners location for the first time. It was relatively busy on a Wednesday afternoon at 1p.m-a good sign. We had the haddock and chips-excellent -with crispy fries, good tiny coleslaw and yummy tartar sauce, lemon wedge. Fast and friendly service with an open style kitchen-you can see what they are doing in there. Everything coming from the kitchen looked good and no fishy smell when you go in like some places. The lunch menu is excellent, you can build your own or choose one of their many choices available. My friend and I had the garlic shrimp (breaded) and the garlic grilled on a skewer, rice. I also had the cream of bacon and potato soup to die for and of course their cheddar corn biscuits complimentary with every meal. The service is next to none, excellent food and price. The bathroom facilities and overall restaurant are very clean. Lots of free parking onsite. I recommend this restaurant. Read more
