I can't see how anyone who visits this jewel, hidden in the corner of the plaza, would find any fault at all. I stumbled upon Dennis' little oasis about 5 years ago and it has become a weekly ritual. Jerk chicken is to die for. Ox tail is the best I have ever had for sure and the rice and peas stand up to any carribean resaurant in the GTA for sure. I've been here a number of times and I'm never disappointed! Its a great place to bring friends to try something delicious and unique. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I was there on a recent Saturday evening at 5:30 and had to wonder, though, why the hostess felt compelled to inform me that my table was booked at 7:30. It felt rather rude and unwelcoming. Although they're famous for their chicken, we'll be going back for their fish (and maybe try the chicken for my 'no way I'm eating fish' husband). My son and I were looking for a quick bite for lunch after doing some shopping at the nearby Scholars Choice and found this place. Smelled soo good. As we didn't see a lot of prices or labels, my son ordered the Portuguese sausage sandwich and I lingered over the windows filled with mountains of fish, rice, potatoes and was served by a very pleasant and helpful young man. I asked about a particular dish and ended up ordering the amazing looking and super delicious cod with a side of potatoes, The server put two layers of potatoes in a good sized container, covered it with the huge portion of cod and then he began spooning a loving amount of the yummy sauce over the dish. As it really isn't a sit down place, we were hungry and ate there. I paid less than $20 and was in heaven. My son enjoyed his sausage but will definitely order the cod next time. Was surprised to read about 'grumpy' servers. Ours even thanked us for coming on our way out. Maybe because it was in the early Friday afternoon, we saw that customers were served quickly (looked like they ordered huge quantities ahead) and courteously. Definitely going back for that cod. This is the closest Brampton will get to having a little taste of Britain. It is the best fish and chip I have had since back home. The cod light batter and chip are to die for. Their chicken pot pies and chip are also a good bet for those who don't like fish. The breaded chicken strips are amazing as well, you can get alone with chips or in a wrap. The menu is very extensive for a fish and chip place. Beats Heritage Fish and Chip by far. Gott's the fish is fresh, bigger and more value for your $$$.
