It all started on June 22, 2022, when a cargo of furniture and other household items was loaded by a Starway Moving contractor truck driver from our home in Surrey, British Columbia to be delivered to our new home in the Ottawa Region. We received our Shipment on Oct 12, 2022 meaning 84 days after our shipment was picked up. Our phone calls and emails were totally ignored and we had to even involve the policy when we were told that they were not able to locate our cargo. STAY AWAY STARWAY
The only positive part of using Starway Moving was in the first phone calls and emails, when the staff was happy to make the booking and take my deposit. From there it was awful. The pickup did not happen on the date scheduled and the shipment arrived almost three weeks late. The family was left stranded in a new city with no clothes or furniture. When the shipment arrived, there were multiple things missing and some broken. Starway refuses to take responsibility. A terrible company.
If I could give zero stars I would. Turn and run from this company. Grossly incompetent, rude and condescending. They switched our pickup twice BEFORE moving day, promised 4 different times ON moving day, before just plain not showing up. They then put the onus on me, the customer to contact the driver, only to find out that the driver has NO WAY to make it at the 4th time promised. Grrrrrr…. It took a BBB complaint to get our deposit back.
Starway Movers has moved my furniture and belongings west and east. Each step of the way was excellent service. The admin team gave me an accurate quote and was so very helpful the entire process. The movers were excellent and were very happy at how organized I was. Even during covid the move back to Winnipeg was easy and safe. I am so very happy I found Starway movers. The cost was very reasonable and so much more affordable than large companies. And the service was top-notch.
Horrible experience. The drivers were late, the customer service was horrible to get ahold of, they didn't show up on time to deliver items, and thousands of dollars in damages that they won't cover because the "driver said" they were already like that. I would never use this service.
After reading these reviews, I was scared to move with starway, but the deposit was already paid. Then I spoke with Jenny and Preet super nice ladies. They knew what they were doing, and even after the pick they called me to if I was happy with the movers and even after the deliver. Overall I loved there service. If I plan to move again I will be calling Jenny and Preet
Please Please Please Stop if you are moving with this co. Or never go with it if you are then you need to worry, final bill will make you super duper angry and in return answer will be why didn't you read our policy. Office staff is super annoying, rude and very aggressive. while taking money so quick but after not even bother to answer your call. Be careful with adding any supplies from driver because 10-20 $ box can cost you 100$ If they give you quotation read it, it says from 1000 to 3000 lb
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - They still have a portion of our stuff and won`t deliver it. They will not return my phone calls and won`t respond to any emails. GIVE ME MY STUFF BACK!!! They are extremely nice and under quote you to obtain your business, but once they pick up your stuff they will hold it hostage while they take advantage of you and give you no other choice but to bend to their demands.
