With a love of the arts and previous experience as a small business owner in Chile, Carmina Trsic was the perfect fit to manage Colours Art and Framing for owners Ken and Keith Harkuss. Her first order of business was the organization of the store. “I made shelves and started hanging things from the ceiling,” she recalls. “My focus is to make use of all the available space so that any artist or drafter can come in and get everything they need.”
And Colours Art and Framing takes this focus seriously. But because it is a small shop, larger items such as drafting tables and chairs need to be ordered in by Carmina and picked up by the customer. “I have a large inventory and it’s a fun challenge to keep it all stocked up and available for the artists,” she says.
Nestled in the northwest near SAIT Polytechnic, Colours Artists Supplies stocks many types of materials, tools and mediums – everything an artist could ever need. In fact, they claim to carry the largest selection in the city.
