Gospel Centre began in the 1940s when a Sunday School was established with help from Northpointe Church (formerly Central Tabernacle). After the building they were meeting in burned down in 1948, the fledgling church met in an old warehouse that was moved to the corner of 148 Street and 100 Avenue in 1949. The first Sunday morning service was held in 1951, with Dale Carpenter serving as the first pastor. The church continued to grow, resulting in a new building being constructed in 1963. Through faithful ministry by several pastors, growth soon necessitated the building of the present structure in 1977.more...See more text
