Ishtar Transition Housing Society is committed to preventing, breaking and ending the cycle of abuse. Ishtar Transition Housing Society has operated in the Central Fraser Valley since the opening of Ishtar House on Jackman Road in Aldergrove on June 24, 1973. Ishtar Transition House has the distinction of being the first transition house in North America. The focus is to provide emergency housing and support services for women and their children leaving abusive relationships. It is a place that is free from the threat of violence. Libra Transition House is a ten bed facility in a rural residential area in Aldergrove that provides temporary emergency shelter for women who are victims of criminal and domestic assault. more...
