Meet the owner

Brett Williams and Vince Allen have been equipping customers top-to-bottom in gear for the summer waves and winter snow since 1989.

“I think we're dating ourselves a bit by saying this but I find that the kids I set up top-to-bottom in gear when we got started — now I'm setting up their kids. But it's good, the most loyal customers I've ever seen,” says Brett, who's been working in the industry since he was 21.

“We’re the only shop that you can go into and talk to the two owners of the shop,” adds Brett, whose son and spouse also work at North Shore Ski and Board.
Over the years, the store has honed its business to the North Shore market: outfitting customers with paddle boarding, kite boarding, wind surfing, wake boarding, ski and snow boarding equipment and clothing.

“We love our customers. We've definitely got a lot of families here on the North Shore that need everything, so we're happy with the market that we've found,” comments Brett, who is pleased with his choice to stay in a single location instead of spreading out to new shops.

“We've had a really good ride that's been going on for a while. I think just staying as a single store has worked well for us.”
