e live in a great country, filled with incredible possibilities. By considering post-secondary studies, you are already on your way to acquiring the tools you need for a variety of careers. One major tool will be your ability to communicate. This ability can take you even further if you are able to communicate your ideas in both of Canada’s official languages.
As a young Anglophone, your ability to strengthen your French skills can be greatly improved by continuing your post-secondary studies in French. Many young Anglophones have been up to the challenge at Université de Moncton and the results speak for themselves.
In the heart of the bilingual city of Moncton, Université de Moncton is the ideal place to perfect your second language while receiving a quality post-secondary education. You will also be able to complete your degree in the same amount of time as Francophone students. As a non-Francophone student, you will apply for admission into the undergraduate program of your choice at Université de Moncton (Arts, Business, Education, Science, etc.) as would a Francophone student. During the first year of your bachelor’s degree, concurrently with your other courses, you will follow an integrated set of four French language courses (two per semester), specifically tailored for Anglophones, and known as Groupe-pont or “Bridge Program”.
After the first year, once you have finished the Groupe-pont program, you will not need any additional French language courses, unless you choose to specialize in Translation or Journalism (information-communication). Your Groupe-pont courses will be credited as electives. As a result, the time required to obtain your bachelor’s degree at UdeM (and become fully bilingual) is the same as for Francophone students.more...See more text
