Excellent tasty food, large portions, attentive and friendly service. The highlights of this exceptional meal were the roasted potatoes and the wine sausage appetizer. Everything was quality. Even better, this was a last-minute Mother's Day reservation.
Attentive, non intrusive service, pleasantly refurbished dining room since my last visit. Prime Rib was excellent - sent mine back as I had selected too rare - but correction was no problem. Lovely fresh veggies. Yorkshire pudding - well, what should I expect in a Greek restaurant? Very tasty roasted potatoes. Kypreos was smart to include a coupon in a local flyer - it influenced my decision to try it - and I will go back with or without coupon. Was introducing my Mom to saganaki (flaming cheese) - and was disappointed that there were no flames and no OPAH! However it tasted great and the grilled black olives - mmmm
The souvlaki dinner comes with 2 generous skewers of meat, Greek salad, rice, and a few roasted potatoes. Too often when you get pork souvlaki it's dried out and flavourless, but this was moist and so tasty. Dipped into the tzatziki sauce, it was amazing! The salad was a little oily, but the dressing was very nice. Delicious kalamata olives, lots of feta, and fresh greens. The rice was flavourful and cooked well, the potatoes were crispy and VERY flavourful. My partner had the turkey club with fries and he enjoyed it. The club had real turkey breast and bacon, nicely toasted bread, and just enough mayo. The fries looked delicious - freshly made and crispy. We will definitely go back!
the breakfast at Kypreos leaves nothing to be desired. There is a wide selection and amply serving. The home fries are real, not frozen and preformed. Its the only place I will go for breakfast ,now that I have experienced it.Help is friendly ,fast and helpful.
My son took me out for Mothers Day. I ordered from the "Mothers Day Menu" The "Special " Mother Day dinner was a very small over cooked chicken breast with 6 goat cheese stuffed raviolli (they were good) but such a small portion. I was finished well before everyone else. What upset me most about the meal was my husband order something from the regular menu...His burger was huge, tons of fries and coleslaw on the side. Thanks for making me feel special on Mothers Day! The couple beside us return her meal and ordered a "real" dinner. I was embarrassed actually, I won't eat there again. Michelle
Just came from lunch and had pork souvlaki. It was pretty good. My wife warned me I wouldn't like it, but it was very satisfying. Best part the roasted russet potatoes. They melted in my mouth. The worst was the rice, which stuck together like it had glue in it. Not a big rice fan anyway so no great loss. Service great (Alanna). Beer and souvlaki $21. I'll go again.
Pros- Quality food, friendly service, updated decor, prices reasonable Cons - Sometimes a bit cold This place is a lunch 'staple' for me, very authentic greek cuisine. My 4 yr old son has an allergy to eggs and they bent over backwards to accomodate me
Prior to the renovations, Kypreos was our Restaurant of choice for all round value and good food. A few weeks ago we returned for an early dinner to beat the supper hour rush. The server seemed to know it was not good based on her comments as I struggled. My NY steak was tough and tasted of liquid smoke as did the potatoes and veggies. My better half was satisfied with the gyro. Her answer to "How is your dinner?" was, "Okay." Maybe we'll try it again but I hate paying for food I mostly leave on the plate. I hope that meal was just a fluke. We'll see.
If your looking for authentically cooked Greek food without a hefty price tag this is worth a look. I have been here several times and never dis-appointed.
My family and I go to Kypreos every weekend and sometimes even a few times a week. The owners of Kypreos treat you like family and even if its your first time in the restaurant they treat you like you've been there a thousand times before. All the waitresses and owners have come to know my children by name and treat them so well every time we go. The food is good quality especially there slovakis and fish dishes...and they have some of the best breakfast in town.
I had a chicken wrap with feta, cucumber etc. It was good and the fries were OK. Odd nutmeg flavour to gravy. My companion had a cheeseburger and fries and thought it was pretty good. We would go back and try for breakfast., which I've heard is very good. Maybe for dinner, depending on our mood. Air conditioning was way TOO cold. People were wearing their jackets.
I always enjoy going to Kypreos for the variety of menu choices. They have very generous portions and lots of variety for their daily specials. The Greek menu choices are authentic and delicious - my personal favourite being the spanikopita! The breakfast is also excellent - it does get quite busy on the weekends, but the wait staff does a great job of getting people seated in good time. Looking forward to seeing their renovation/expansion!
They appear yo be revamping. I really enjoyed the restaurant. I am very excitted to see the final result. The food was very good. I had greek food. It was the best in town. It is not a greek restaurant. But it is ran by a greek family and the greek food they serve is the very best. They have amazing specials. Will definately return with friends. Its like a hidden secret!
We had a coupon and decided to try an new place for both of us...Well,let me tell ya,we were extremely pleased. Our server was very nice and helpful. The food was outstanding for both of us....Chicken and sausages were cooked to perfection as was the rice, mashed potatoes and the Greek Salad was to die for!!We took some home it was so much.... Kitchen staff were all very clean and kitchen looked very clean from what I could see. It is now our favourite restaurant in Kitchener.I promise to give them more buisness.Kudos to everyone for making this an awsome dinner experience!!See you soon! ps....tzatiki sauce was one of the best I have ever tasted.
The food was alright, but this is not really a Greek restaurant! There were only 4 or 5 items on the menu that were identifiable as "Greek" dishes, with the rest being a mix of typical diner fare such as hamburgers, turkey clubs, steak, etc. The only even remotely Greek appetizer available was calamari. I'm afraid it just didn't live up to my hopes as far as an authentic Greek experience. It had more of a "family restaurant" feel to it. The portions were extremely generous and the prices were also extremely reasonable.
This is the real deal! The dinner is a heaping offering that is decorated with a perfect greek salad and just the right balance of starch with perfect rice and fries if you wish. I usually opt for the extra salad ... you could live off this stuff! Best darn souvlaki in town and the breakfast here is top notch at very competetive prices!!! I seek this location out weekly ... it's that good. Lunch time can be busy ... best to get there at 11:30 to avoid the rush! Servie staff have mastered the art of timing. This is the standard by which all others should be measured. Perfect 10s fit the product and service here!
The service I received from the friendly staff at kypreos restaurant was excellent, the food was outstanding and I was served by a beautiful Greek girl named Andrea. Her skills as a waitress are at a very high standard. I know I will be returning to this Mediterranean restaurant on a weekly basis to have my gyro and sheftalies. Hats off to management!
The decor is very warm and inviting. The service was great - waitress stopped to chat for a while and made us feel welcomed. The greek salad was very flavourful but I believe they use Canadian feta which is a big no-no for me. The sheftalias were very tender and tasty and the pita bread they use is the best I ever had. I have recommended this place to many friends. Great job!
Amazing! You get so much food, I haven't seen one person finish their entire meal there! Great value as well. They are in the process of renovating so the place will look great in a couple of months. If you love food and a good price this is the place to be!
great food, excellent service, and the ambiance can only get better with the new renos.
