I booked an appointment with this company and got a call on the day they were meant to come that the pipes in their machines had frozen up. I booked another appointment and they just didn't turn up. I checked online for reviews of the company and from around 100 reviews, in virtually all cases, they booked appointments but did not show. One person left a review saying they did show up and the cleaning left a terrible smell int heir carpet for weeks.
Bought the deal from Livingsocial. Never pick up the phone. Need to leave message couple times for them to get back to me to book an appointment. Finally I was able to book an appointment. Two lady show up and measured the area, they said my area is within the deal limit I bought. Then they'll send the guys to come clean the carpet. Waited half a day and no one show up. Called them ten times, no one pick up or return my call. Absolutely ridiculous service if you even call that service. I want my money back.
This company is very disreputable, inefficient and do not honour their appointments. I was on the hook for five months to come to clean a carpet. There was always an excuse why they did not show up. Finally Groupon cancelled the order. DO NOT EVER THINK OF USING THIS COMPANY.
I used a groupon to have Family Discount clean 2 carpeted rooms in my apartment. It was a little hard to get a hold of them on the phone, but once I did it was easy to coordinate the visit. They did a good job, carpets were much cleaner. They also cleaned a floor rug when we asked.

We work hard as a business to provide the best quality work, When we did a groupon ad, we did it for repeat business and were seeking clients that wanted professional and good work...we found that many people were only looking for a basic deal and didnt care who we were nor did they respect our professional decisons..many many of these poeple that are making negative comments fail to tell the full details of there experience..!!
This company is very unprofessional. We've booked three times and all three times were NO SHOWS. On one occasion, company called my husband to ask if they could come earlier than expected because they were having a slow day. Husband chose to leave work early to meet with them and no show, no call. Mailbox is ALWAYS full, call-backs are only after received after leaving irate messages. We're asking for a credit back and have notified Groupon to take them off of their vendor list. If you had a similar experience, I ask that you do the same. There's more to this, but just do not have the time as we have to steam clean our carpets on our own now...lol. I guess you get what you pay for, huh?
Just like others, I brought 3 vouchers($29 each). This is the 1st time I brought from Groupon. I left messages on their answering machine 2 times since early August. Same lady returned my calls. She told me she will get back to me. Same answers 2 times. But she never called back to confirm the appointment. 3rd times I called was before the long weekend. An operator picked up the phone. I told I need the service immediately. She said the company closed for holiday and suggested me to leave the message directly on their answering machine. Since my tenant need to move in on Sept 1. I had no choice but to hire another company to clean the carpet. This morning Sept 3. She called back(same lady). She asked "What you want to do today?". I told her I called 3 times, waited for one month and never had the appointment confirmed. I wanted my money back. She told me: "I am the owner but I never purchase from Groupon. You need to contact Groupon directly for the refund." I asked for her name. She told me but asked me why I need her name. I told her I needed her name as a proof to Groupon for the refund. She got upset immediately and said: "Why you need to mention my name. You are lying, I never talk to you before, I wont agree to the refund......." She continue scrimming and yelling....... She, the owner, her voice is so easy to recognize, I am sure everyone agreed. Can anyone tell me how to get my monies back?
I called to discuss booking an appointment with the "owner" and wanted to confirm they would show up as I was concerned after reading the reviews (already bought the coupon). She did confirm that the truck has broken down. I had called two weeks ago to book and appointment as well as sending an email but to no avail. I was told that they pick up all the messages and return calls, well that's not true. She started raising her voice, I had to pull the phone away from my ear. Was told to ask for a refund and was hung up on. Hoping I can get my money back. I am not another carpet cleaning company.
I bought a groupon voucher for this company. I made an appointment with them and was stood up. I didn't receive any calls from company or the technicians to inform me that they wouldn't be able to make it to the appointment. Next day, there wasn't even a courtesy call to inform me why they didn't come. When I called them, the representative told me that the phones of the technicians were "NOT FUNCTIONAL", they got busy and they just couldn't make it.
Like several other reviewers, I bought a Groupon for 500 sq ft of carpet cleaning for $29 (thinking - how could this go wrong?) I had to call across several days just to get someone on the phone. Once I gota hold of them, they were booked for 9am. I took the day off in order to get them into my new condo. Next day rolls around. Around noon, I figured it was time to call to see what was up. It took about 10 calls to get a hold of someone. Once on, she said she didn't know why they didn't show up and to call back in half an hour if they still weren't there. Of course they didn't show up, so I called back (several times). Once I had a hold of her again, she told me that the techs got held up outside of the city and would hopefully make it there today, and if not, tomorrow. I told her that I would stay there all day, late into the evening, and I just wanted them to come. They didn't. As a result, I had to take another day off work in order to get them in - stupidly believing what she had told me. Throughout the day I called repeatedly and no one ever picked up the phone. No one ever showed up. No explanation. I called for several more DAYS and never had someone pick up the phone. I racked up $20 of long distance charges in an attempt to use a $29 groupon (which, of course, never got used). Unfortunately I didn't see this webpage until after I had purchased the groupon, otherwise I never would have gotten involved with the company. Luckily, groupon refunded the money and I informed them that they should reconsider partnering with a company like this (I also referenced the numerous other reviews on yellowpages). These people are are either crooks or are woefully inept when it comes to running a business. Do everyone, including yourself, a favour and do not give them your business. As a final note - I noticed that the company has been replying to a number of the reviews with excuses. Don't be taken in by them. They are NOT BBB ACCREDITED.
I bought a groupon for up to three rooms and choice of 12 stairs or one hallway - up to 500 square feet. We needed it for ONE 8x10 polyester shag area rug. Nowhere does it say not for area rugs and since I wanted ONE polyester rug cleaned instead of three rooms, I didn't think it would be a problem since I actually wanted LESS square footage cleaned than what the voucher was for. I called to make appointment and was told I was speaking to the owner and she wouldn't accept the voucher for an area rug. When I asked why, she said area rugs cost more and can be made from silk, etc, etc. I said it was one area rug made of polyester. When I tried to explain, thinking she misunderstood me, she was incredibly rude and actually hung up on me! What a terrible way to run a business!
I just had the exact same problem that the other people reported. I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased the voucher for carpet cleaning. My daughter is at Sick Kids and I made special arrangements to come home and move all of my furniture today. Now when they didnt show up, I called back and the girl was absurdly rude. I honestly dont know how these people stay in business. I called the company I bought the vocher through and demanded a refund. I suggest you do the same!
They constantly sell on Dealfind and do not honour their vouchers. I had an appointement with this company for a voucher purchase and the cancelled and put me back 3 months because I refused to add services. I than cancelled my voucher, due to the fact that I did not want a company with these business ethics in my home.
I won't use this company again and I haven't even come to my house yet, the first appointment I had ( early in the morning) they never showed up and when I called to see they were coming it was hours later when they got back to me...then Tanya called me and said they had me down on another date and didn't know who I talked to (which was her who I made the appoinment with) then my next appointment has been cancelled so I have to reschedule once again....and I called to do so and the "young" child that answered said they would call me back but didnt' take any info from me (so how do they know who to call back) . Its not wroth your time or money to deal with a company like this! I guess its true when they say you get what you pay for!!!
I would not recommend dealing with this company. We made an appointment over a week ago, moved all of our furniture out of the rooms and they did not show up. We called them throughout the day to see when they would be coming and no one returned our calls. I finally was told that I would receive a call back at 9pm, this call never came. This company was not apologetic about their unreliability. In addition to this, they took the time to make a comment about the person they were speaking having an accent, if this is such an issue, perhaps you shoudl consider not doing business in the GTA.
Phoned Family Discount Carpet Cleaning and scheduled service for the following week. Woman who identified herself as daughter of the owner, said they would give reminder call on evening prior. We moved all furniture out of our rooms, in preparation for the carpet cleaning. No reminder call from Family Discount. This company was a NO SHOW. We phoned and left two messages that day on voicemail. No return call. For next two weeks, we called 12 more times, always got voicemail, did not leave further messages. Called again and left 3rd message, gave a different phone number this time. Woman named Tonya called back 20 minutes later, and we identified ourselves as the same customer as the previous appointment. Tonya quickly apologized, said her "guys got lost somewhere down by the lake" - and could not explain reasons for not calling while the crew was missing in action, OR not calling since, OR not returning messages. Re-booked appointment for a later date. Tonya said she would give reminder call on evening prior. Again we moved all furniture out of rooms. No reminder call. AGAIN no show. We left voicemail that day. No return call. We cannot believe the complete disregard this company has for clients. I cannot understand why they would make not one, but two appointments and not honour either one of them. I accept that things happen, other appointments run late, trucks break down, etc., however it is incredible that they don't make calls, or return calls, for appointments they missed. It is an extreme inconvenience they have caused their client, who has moved all their furniture in advance of carpet cleaning. Apparently, they have time to return messages left by people they perceive as new clients, who will surely be just as disappointed in this HORRIBLE SERVICE that we were VICTIMS of. Twice. Do not use this company, no matter how good of a deal you think you're getting!
I HAD MY FURNITURE CLEANED BY THIS FIRM, I THOUGHT MY STAINS WOULD NOT EVER BE REMOVED. I HAD MANY COMPANIES IN THE PAST CLEAN MY SOFA AND CHAIR AND THE STAINS KEPT COMING BACK WHEN THE PIECE DRIED. THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT..THEY NEVER CAME BACK AND SOFA LOOKED CLOSE TO NEW AGAIN. I AM SURPRISED WITH THE NEGITIVE REVIEWS..THIS COMPANY WAS PROMPT AND PROFESSIONAL WITH ME AND HAD GREAT SERVICE AND REALLY GOOD RATES!! I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.
I had an appointment with the above name company and I can truly say I do not have 1 single good thing to say about them! They were late when they arrived putting my day behind as well (also not even an I’m sorry we are late was said) they were hard on the walls and baseboards while cleaning – knowing they were late with me, I’m sure they were rushing! They did not do the job they said they would do. The carpet does not look any better than if I would have rented one myself! I would NOT recommend this company to anyone unless you just want to waste your money!

THIS REVIEW IS VERY INACCURATE, THIS PARTICULAR CLIENT WANTED HER BASEBOARDS DUSTED..MY FATHER AND I WERE THERE FOR OVER TWO HOURS, WE HAD CUTS IN OUR FINGERS FROM THE CARPET TACKS DUE TO DOING THEM ALL BY HAND!
We had booked Family Discount Carpet cleaning (Tanya – Daughter to the owner) to come to our house in Brooklin, Ontario for a cleaning for a Monday morning. They called us 15 minutes before our appointment time to say the truck had broken down and we needed to reschedule. After a number of attempts to get a hold of them I was able to and rebooked for 2 days later. I wanted it done ASAP as we have 2 small children and had cleared out the kid’s playroom of all the toys and stuff so the kids really had no playroom until the carpets were cleaned and toys put back. I then had an appointment at 1:30pm on Wednesday. At 1:45, no one had showed up or called us. I called the office and no one answered. I continued to wait (silly me!) and STILL no one showed up or has returned my call! My advice to you the reader/potential customer, DO NOT waste your time like I did clearing out a room for them to NOT come and clean. Our time is very valuable to us all and having to wait around for a no show/no call is very disappointing! Your best bet is to go with another company who WILL show up and get the job done the first time NOT Family Discount Carpet & Furniture cleaning Repair and Recovery!!!

THIS CUSTOMER WAS CONTACTED BY TAUNYA TWO HOURS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT, AND YES ONE OF OUT TRUCKS BROKE DOWN VIA TRANSIT..SHE WAS NOTIFIED AND TOLD THAT THE SERVICE WAS RUNNING LATE AND THAT WE ARE VERY SORRY, THSES THINGS CAN HAPPEN..AND SEEING AS SHE WAS TOLD THAT WE MOVE ALL THE FURNITURE..SHE SHOULD NOT OF HAD TO GO TO ALL THIS TROUBLE. THE POTENTIAL CUSTOMER WAS NOT FLEXIBLE IN TIME FRAMES AVAILABLE, SO WE WERE UNABLE TO SERVICE HER.
