Unix HQ UNIX systems have mostly catered to enterprise use where the demands placed on them are stronger. Whereas a typical PC is designed to fail after 3 to 5 years with moderate use, enterprise UNIX systems are built tough, typically lasting 25 years and thus carry a justifiable price premium over their PC counterparts.
