When the financial crisis hit, Susan Hammond took time off from her career in investments to figure out her next move. “I remember watching a TV show called Clean Sweep with a guy named Peter Walsh,” Susan recalls. “He’s one of those organizing gurus. And I kind of went, ‘That was so cool. I’d like to do that.’”
At that point, Susan wasn’t even sure if an industry existed for home organization in Canada. But she discovered trade groups like the Professional Organizers of Canada and began working with other organizers to learn more about the business. In 2013, she left the finance world for good, started taking clients of her own and launched her own organizing operation called happy pea.
