In the early 20th century , David Tremblay founded a small sawmill in Delisle . A few years later, he sold it to relocate to St. Monica north of Alma in the Lac- Saint -Jean, where he acquired another mill . He then was a small family sawmill in local and regional focus , as were many small villages in Quebec. Over the years the falls were formed , and by the middle of the century, his son Thomas- Louis took the leadership of the company.
