This restaurant is such a contradiction. It has the potential to become the best restaurant in Ottawa (if not the country). All the elements are in place. Awesome, atmosphere, great staff (mostly), and good food. The only stick in the ointment is a single toxic personality in the guise of a server, who seems intent on destroying all of that and ensuring that you never come back. She's a bit older than the other servers (who are all excellent), but this is not about age. Irene's up the road seems like an older crowd of patrons and servers, but they are awesome...but I digress, this not about Irene's, I just wanted to show that the contradiction at Patty's boils down to one personality. It's a real pity, because everything and everyone else there is out of this world.Read more

Have always enjoyed dropping into the Mow for dinner and drinks with friends, but a recent menu change removed a lot of the more interesting menu options and has reduced this place to having more of a cookie-cutter menu. "Mundane" may be too harsh a description, but it's a direct reflection of how much we liked the variety that could be found on the menu previously.
We'll likely still go back, but more for drinks and snacks rather than for meals.Read more
Very friendly staff, really good fish and chips, wings, burgers, and weekend breakfasts WITH FRIED BALONEY - YEAH! The decor is tired but just like what you would find in small town Newfoundland. The washrooms are clean. If you go there just to eat, especially in the evenings and on weekends, be prepared for lots of rowdy barflies - this is very much a neighbourhood bar with loyal regulars.Read more
