So a bunch of us finally headed down to the Blue Canoe for dinner. A few had been there before, and a few hadn't, but we always go and critique places together. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, not a detail was spared in the design of the restaurant.
The real tester is of course the food, and it did not disappoint. They've thrown together some amazing flavours and clearly taken some chances that have worked out in their favour. The Drummettes....I don't eat chicken wings anywhere, but these ones were in a soy sauce of some sort that was fantastic!! The BBQ Salmon was probably the best salmon that I've ever had at a restaurant....not overcooked like most places. So much flavour. That was it for me, but others had a wide variety of food and rave reviews on all counts. A few questions on the sides that they came with, but generous portions and smiles all around. Oh, and the beer is good too...

Excellent fish. Open the batter and it is full of fish. good value and prompt service. Take out was ready in minutes. I am going back to try the oysters. I gave 4 stars only because of the lack of beer on the beverage menu. A very enjoyable meal. good job!

I lived close by New Lakeview over 15 years ago and was a frequent diner both in and for take-out. I recently moved back to the area and was happy to see that nothing had changed. (unfortunately not even the pink walls) Although the decor leaves something to be desired the food does not fall short. I rate their Singapore noodles as the best I have ever tasted. (better than in Singapore!) The prices are low and servings are generous. The won-ton soup is excellent and they feature fresh crab dishes with a variety of sauces. Lunch hour is busy with short wait for a table but the specials run to 3pm.

Undeniably one of the best fish and chip places in the Langley, Poco and Maple Ridge area. We've hit others and they were bad experiences with oil dripping off the cod pieces that had to be dabbed with a napkin to see through it. This place is always busy, and their fish burgers are messy but a good choice. The all you can eat fish and chips is a good deal whereas, others disappoint. Go there Friday night and you'll see this place buzzing with customers and most seating is filled.

Easily the best place for Chinese in Surrey - or anywhere else for that matter. We've never eaten in, although we've done both take out and delivery. The delivery is amazingly fast... usually less than 20 minutes, and piping hot and fresh! The portions are very generous! Take out, the service was great, really fast and friendly. Hey Oceansider (see below), the wait person should not have told your kids to get their hands off the windows. That should be your job. Why should they have to clean your kid's sticky handprints off the windows? I really can't understand why people will give a restaurant a bad rating because they can't control their children. We go to Yorkys regularly and we find it a great chip shop! The fish and chips are as good as any we get in Wales!!! The paper wrap and the vinegar and salt splash make it authentic. If you fancy a good filling meal, this is definitely a place to visit....very reasonably priced.
