Viphalay is run by the Mounma family. Dad was behind the construction of the Viphalay Stadium location, our original home, the space was gutted and reconstructed into what you see today. He is not only an incredibly skilled carpenter and electrician but he can also cook a mean pad thai.

Always excellent food! The Green Curry and coconut rice is outstanding! The owner is always so accommodating. Love the family run restaurant atmosphere. We love to stop by after work for take out.

Disappointed with...

Disappointed with no parking space. The restaurant is too small for big group or family dining. The restaurant felt too small and cramp.

Excellent!

Been a couple times - excellent food, service. Bad location - but good safe parking - just not lots of it. Recommend making a reservation.

Although it’s off the Chinatown strip, Viphalay has some of the best Thai I’ve ever eaten in Edmonton. It constantly delivers on good, flavourful Thai food. The space is small, so lots of people opt to order take-out here, or give their beautiful 99 Avenue location a try. You can’t go wrong with anything here – from the Tom Yum soups to the red wine shrimp and appetizers, curries and the red wine shrimp, pad Thai and drunken noodles.
