Breathtaking Views and Food

We went to Seasons recently for a birthday dinner and were reminded, once again, why this is one of the finest restaurants in all of Vancouver. To say Seasons is off the beaten track is to put it mildly but getting there is worth every precious second. This gem of a restaurant is located in pretty much the geographic centre of Vancouver and also at its highest point. This location commands views like no other with almost every table offering a panoramic view of the city and the North Shore Mountains all while surrounded by the natural beauty of Queen Elizabeth Park. And the views are just the beginning. We sat down to a meal that was exquisite and served with flare and panache that made us instantly look forward to our next opportunity to dine at Seasons. The appetizers of warm spiced nuts and marinated olives and Carrot Ginger Soup were a perfect introduction to our dinners. The roasted Chicken Breast, Salmon, Halibut and Filet Mignon with seafood were expertly prepared and the artful presentation was a complement to the gorgeous scenery. The vast majority of the ingredients are also either organic or locally sourced and I feel this added to the overall fabulous taste of our meals. I also must mention my dessert, the playfully named Little Brownie Mountain. It was a veritable explosion of all of my favourite flavours of caramel, chocolate and whipped cream presented in one outstanding creation. The service was excellent and while we could tell that the staff and the kitchen were a bit stretched by a special event happening downstairs we never really noticed as our waiter kept us apprised of the situation. What's more our waiter was always there when we needed him and never there when we didn't. When you are finished your dinner take a stroll through the beautiful gardens that surround Seasons to digest your meal and reflect on a truly magnificent dining experience.

You will find this restaurant in Queen Elizabeth Park. This glass-wrapped restaurant offers stunning views of Vancouver’s incredible skyline and the North Shore mountains. Residents of Vancouver should bring their visitors here. It’s really spectacular. The service here is always very good and staff is very accommodating. We ordered: 1) Grilled Steak & Eggs (6 oz strip-loin), scrambled eggs served with roasted potatoes 2) Miso Soy Marinated Black Cod with jasmine rice. Both dishes were priced at $26. We enjoyed with our meal a BC wine from the Okanagan 'Mission Hill Five Vineyards', priced at $30. It was a culinary delight.
