Lovely Every Time

This is one of my favourite restaurants. I first was taken here by my father after he had been so impressed eating here at a business lunch. We haven't had a bad meal here ever. My favourite meal is always the eggplant parmesan. It has to be prepared ahead of time, so make to to mention when you make your reservation, if you want it. Food quality is always amazing. The owner is attentive, enthusiastic, and passionate about the food and service. The owner may be Greek, but coming from an Italian girl who grow up on my Italian Nana's fresh made food, he knows his Italian food.

Great Evening

We had never been to Cafe Andreou before and weren't sure what to expect after reading some reviews. It was fantastic! The service was excellent. The food was superb from the appetizers (esgarcot, salads) to the main courses (veal picatta, filet) to the desserts (cannoli, creme brulee). Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. The host was Chris who was friendly but not overpowering. I didn't catch our waiters name but he was most helpful and polite. Great evening!

A travesty

Never in any eating establishment have we ever been treated they way we were at Cafe Andreou. This was our second time there - the first time was lovely. The food was great, the owner was hilarious. We are food lovers; we go out somewhere different usually every Friday night. We are not picky eaters, we are great tippers, and we just love the whole dining out experience. The night started out great - the owner (Chris) was his same gregarious self. Appetizers were wonderful. Main courses came and one of the ladies in our party mentioned to us that her dinner was a little too salty. I tasted it and agreed with her. In fact, mine was also a bit over salted but tolerable. When the waiter (a wonderful gentleman-not the owner) came over to ask how the food was, one of the guys in our party mentioned that the ladies food was salty. The owner happened to over hear this and was at our table in a shot!. First to lecture the lady, instructing her on how she should be reading the menu then to berate us for even mentioning the issue. He SHOUTED at us that we didn't have a clue and no matter what he would DEFEND HIS FOOD......well......that was that. Too bad the customer and their factual opinion accounts for nothing. We - and everyone we know - will never attend this place again. And you know what - it was 7 pm on a Friday night - there was our party and one other couple in the place - the last time we were there, same thing - we pondered why no one knew about this fabulous place. Now we know why. I feel very sorry for the Chef's and for the wait staff - they do such a great job. Chris has got to go!! He trained at Barbarian's in Toronto - one of the best old school steak houses around - obviously he learned nothing during his time there - Barbarians would be ashamed the he associated himself with their fine customer service. My advice - if you do go there - ask that Chris not attend your table. :-)

We had our Christmas party here and the service was great. Food is pricey for what you get and very much in keeping with the high end restaurants in Toronto (the higher the price, the less food you get!). Servers wore tuxedos and it looked like an old Victorian house done over. I had Chicken Parmesan and pudding for dessert.

I absolutely LOVED this restaurant! I was taken here as a surprise for my birthday and loved it. The owner was very attentive, taking our jackets at the door. He came out with a smile and singing to greet us! The food was absolutely amazing and presented VERY well! I didn't even want to eat it! I just wanted to look at it :p The service was great, the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, and it's the only other restaurant in Brantford I've found Portuguese wine on the menu (which, to also note, they had a VERY extensive wine menu!)!! Bottom line ... one of my favourite restaurants to date. I will for SURE be going back!!!
