It all started when I was 12. My mom was not the greatest at combing hair, so I started doing my own. Since I did such a good job, I had to start styling my mom and sister's hair as well. Eeek! Friends and family encouraged me to earn a cosmetology license in 1999. It changed my life --the ability to take something and make it more beautiful was so exciting! Almost immediately, I opened Serendipity Salon to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the Bay Area. Back then, there were virtually no multi-cultural or LGBT-friendly salons.It has been a beautiful challenge using cuts, hair color, extensions, perms and relaxers to set free the potential I see within each client.I love making people feel confident for special events -- such as job interviews, first dates, etc. Three of my passions are color, extensions and cuts!
