I've visited here twice, and both times were great experiences (we even stayed in the B&B room above the restaurant on one visit). The food is very high quality as far as 'pub grub' goes, with standouts being the baseball steak and the steak pie (actually, anything with thier gravy is worth trying). The atmosphere is cozy but not over-done with phoney 'charm'; exposed stone walls and dark woods are enough to highlight the history of the building. Both visits were busy but it didn't hurt the service. A good mix of young and old(er) people give a nice community feel to this small town pub.
Always busy, and they have a lot of good beer. Food leaves a little to be desired as i do not like to try new and crazy things. If you go on Saturday night they have great prime rib.
steak ordered medium rare was brought to the table crisp, when brought to waitresses att. she just shrugged. another order, of pasta was mixed up & she brought chicken instead. when we asked for manager she told us he wasn't there. the other 6 orders were acceptable. this is more of a drinking establishment not good food unless you have" had a few"
They have a great selection of beers,decent food,a great patio and poor service each of the four times we have been there.
