Five of us went there for a family dinner. The service was very good but the lobsters were overcooked, steaks were OK, but just can't beat the steaks we grill in our own back yard. The ambience was wonderful. It was a busy evening but the five of us had no problem talking and hearing each other across the large table, not sure why.
This was a horrible crapy meal won't come back again
How times have changed !! Once upon a time years ago we could not sneak out of this place and we did try without someone asking how our meal was or just saying "thanks for coming". But no more. Not even an acknowledgment from two servers we had to pass between on the way to the door. Obviously their conversation was more important. Now that's just plain rude. As much as we enjoy Red Lobster the one in Oshawa is not our sole choice.
One Saturday I was out shopping alone and decided I would stop in at Red Lobster and have some lunch as I have done this many times before. I am a frequent customer to this location but on this day it made me re-evalulate my opinion. I arrived at the restaurant at 12:55 p.m. and was told it would be about 10 minutes and I was ok with that, there were 4 others waiting for a table. They were seated soon after I arrived and I was the only one waiting. Several people left as they had to walk in front of me to leave and I know one server came out and said tables 3 and 13 were clean. I could see several available tables from where I was sitting. After 20 minutes I asked how much longer and was told another 10 to 15 minutes. I just walked out at that point. I came to the conclusion that I must have had to wait for a smaller table as I was by myself and because of that I was not permitted to have lunch. I did send a message to the other sight but have not heard back from them..If this is any idication of how customers are going to be treated, I will not be going back and neither will by family and friends.
For the price, this place has gone downhill over the years. The seafood portions got smaller and overcooked in my opinion. Liked the lobster bisque which is no longer on the menu as well
Recently my family and I went to Red Lobster as the all you can eat shrimp special was on. I have 2 small children 4 and 2 years old and they don't eat much to begin with so we normally just let them pick from our plate. We've done it many times there and also at other restaurants. We just let the server know to have an extra dish as the kids will be sharing. WELL, our last visit the server told us that we cannot do that and we HAVE to order from the kids menu. She was really rude about it and said that she would ask the manager but it's a waste of time because she knows the answer will be "no". She left for like what seemed to be 10 mins, came back and said the answer is no as I said before. She just turned my stomach and then the manager came to our table and I explained what was wrong. I told him he lost the order because of the rude server and we wil never come back again. It was like she owned the company or something. Any other time we have been there and had different servers they were so accomidating and had no problem with the kids having some of or food. My son always gets the garlic shrimp so I was going to order just a side dish for him so it's not like he wasn't ordering anything. My husband and mother in law were all ordering thr 19.00 all you can eat shrimp. So it's not like we were all eating from one plate and sharing with each other, it was just the kids. They wanted us to pay each person the 19.00 or they could order from the kids menu. What a place!
Fabulous dinner, our server Brenda was excellent and everything from the lovely hostesses to our meals was very enjoyable. We have gone to other locations but none seem as friendly and personable as the Oshawa location. We highly recommend it!!
Our server Neil was new but did a great job. He was very polite and apologetic when he didn't bring the soup that came with my partner's meal first. Our food was great.. a bit salty.. but that's to be expected from a place that uses lots of salt and butter. It was very delicious and I will definitley return. Neil will be a great server and I wish him all the best.
First off, I love seafood. Big time. I've been to this Red Lobster location many times over the years. And lately, they're going downhill. Initially our visit there was spectacular. Great food, exceptional service. But over the years they've been dwindling. A few months back our service and food was mediocre there. And my wife and I thought we'd give it another go for our Valentines dinner. We arrived there at about 6pm on a Sunday. Surprisingly we didn't have to wait to be seated which was very nice. And that's about the only nice part of the evening. After being seated, it wouldn't be for another 15 minutes before our waitor would even acknowledge us and asked us if we'd like to order drinks. By then we had already decided on our entire meals and went ahead and put in our full orders. Again, it wouldn't be for another 15 minutes before he actually came back with our salads. No drinks. We thought perhaps that's what he's doing next. Not so. Not for another 10 minutes do we decide to flag down a passing waitress to ask her about our drinks. She gets our waitor who then proceeds to bring us our long awaited drinks. Poorly done. Our escargos arrived with the mussels. We were please with this. They were great, as expected. Then our main course. The 2 orders of the Ultimate Feast. Now, as previously mentioned, we've been here many times in the past, more or less ordering the same things. This time around, our food was well below expectations. The crab legs were exceptionally small in size. One would guess that it's the bottom of the barrel time food they're trying to pass off to us. We should've sent back the plate but didn't. But that's not all, there was something missing from my plate. Red Lobster, being it's name you would think that what they pride themselves on. And when the Ultimate Feast meal is centred around a lobster tail, you'd imagine that it's the last thing they would forget to give you. And yet it happened to me. Again I had to stalk for the waitor to come by and told him. Only then did he come back with the missing lobster tail on a separate plate. The main course was below average in both prep and taste. The crab legs were stringy and overcooked (perhaps it was too small?). We never had a pleasant time there that evening. And finally asked for the bill so that we could try to salvage what's left of the evening. Again, long wait for the bill. I gave him my credit card, he leaves, comes back and drops the pen for us to sign. And low and behold, no ink in the pen. And he's nowhere to be found. You can't make this stuff up. After asking a passing waitress for a pen, I signed the bill and we promptly left. Disgusted with our experience at this particular location. From now on, seafood for us will be prepared at home. Better value and service elsewhere.
We went on a week night with our two kids... the service was painfully slow. We waited nearly a half and hour for our food, by this time we were all starving and the kids, normally very well behaved, were restles... ended up having to pack up our food and leave and the staff couldn't get us out of there fast enough. Absolutely terrible. We went on a week night, it was not busy and we couldn't get decent service to save our lives. An awful experience.
The was the best restaurant experience that I have ever had. The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious!!
Ugh, one of the worst dining experience ever. Food portions were microscopic and to make up for that they made them really expensive. My jumbo shrimp cocktail for $9 consisted of 7 'medium' sized shrimp around a cocktail glass filled with sauce. My assorted plate of seafood for $25+ had 6 shrimp, 4 scallops, a soup bowl full of cheese goop and tiny shrimp and on the side was the tail of the world's smallest lobster; it must have only been half a pound when it was whole. $80 dollar cheque! never going back there again.
Amazing food. The seafood feast was absolutely huge and incredible. My husband says it could possibly be the best meal he has had out at any restaurant. Wonderful all around!!
The food is kind of cheap, i mean its the fast food of seafood. But I can't think of too many other places in this city to get a decent variety of seafood. The service is excellent and the food is pretty good.
