GREAT FOOD THEY MAKE YOU FEELL LIKE FAMILY HOMECOOKED MEALS
I had been to the Aviemore for breakfast a couple times before, but never early enough to have the "home fries". turns out they are deep fried (why?). Previously, I 'd had sausage and eggs, the sausage WAS DEEP-FRIED! So, this time I asked the waitress "are the sausages deep-fried?" and was told "yes". so, i order ed bacon and eggs, never imagining the bacon would be deep-fried, sure enough, the BACON WAS DEEP-FRIED!!!!!! and of course the waitress never bothered to tell me that even though i had asked if the sausages were deep-fried and i chose bacon instead when she told me the sausages were in fact deep fried. I'll NEVER go back
Sometimes a like a simple diner. Nothing fancy. This place is small and plain. The food is cheap, the menu is simple - burgers, fryer food, frozen fries. The coffee keeps coming - you pay at the counter. The cook makes a special that's usually pretty good. If that's what you're looking for that's what you get. I do back. The breakfast is just what you'd expect from a diner and the price is fair. It's faster than it is friendly but there is nothing to complain about unless you thought you were going to get a linen napkin. You order a Coke, they put the can right on the table. It's a diner folks. Love it or skip it.
We recently went to the Aviemore for my Wife's Birthday. We have eaten there many times it is our favourite place to eat. The food was fabulous as always. Our waitress was the best..Sandy she is pleasant friendly and when we were done our meal she place a candle in my wife's rice pudding and sang Happy Birthday..which just made her day. We would like to say thank you
We used to go here a lot but not again. 1. The waitress came to our table and instead of asking if we would like something to drink she said "Do you want coffee". My wife said she would have milk and I would have a beer. 2. When she took our order I asked what the difference was between a Hot Hamburger and the same thing in Lite she said one was regular and one was lite - I had to pull teeth to find out. Finally when I ordered I asked for a very small order of fries then she asked if I wanted salad and soup, I asked if it was included and her answer was "No and neither is the beer" I got my meal with a full load of fries and she brought 8 butter things but neither of us had buns. My wife had chicken fingers which were not good and she wanted to know if we wanted a doggie bag??? I think these places should hire experienced staff or spend the money to train them properly. Also both my wife and I had heartburn and indigestion all night
Always a good value We go there 4 - 6 times per year when we don't want to cook but don't want to spend a lot either The food is always good and service as well
Average greasy spoon. Very carniverous based menu, but has a couple vegetarian options such as cheese or mushroom omelets, veggie burger, and cheese pasta, but I definatly would not recommend to vegan friends. Food was pretty good, service wasa little slow but the place was somewhat busy.
Yes, the restaurant is quaint or small in size compared to chain restaurants - but you can actually HEAR what you're saying. Yes, it is popular with the elderly crowd because they know great service and a great deal when they see one!! There is an amazingly quick turnover and the food has always been well prepared. I have never felt rushed and the staff is super friendly! For the amount of money that is paid the amount of food is GREAT = excellent for the poor student or the elderly. Sunday mornings are SUPER busy due to the Church crowd so be prepared to wait a bit longer - not usually that long.
I love going to this place, it is friendly, cozy, and the service is so quick! Meals are very inexpensive and really good! We go for breakfast there once, if not twice every week... love it!
The food was pretty good, The best part of the meal I would say was the gravy. You could tell it was home made and tasted VERY fresh. The place was PACKED with ALL elderly people, Me, my fiancee' and my 2 year old daughter got the LAST table left and were touching elbows with BOTH the tables beside us. The staff almost RUSHED us because we were a young couple (NOT OVER 60) and because we had a child.. If you are living on a pention and are retired than I suggest going here because it will be the atmisphere you are use too and the staff will treat you great.. If you are young or middle aged I would SKIP IT...
Service was quick and friendly. The food was just ok. The roast beef was very dry not sure why. The restaurant is cozy to the point where you bump someone else's elbow just to sit down. Could definitely use more room and more parking. Would not go there intentionally unless I was in area. Very Plain.
Best breakfast in town, by far!! A great home style breakfast with all the trimmings. Excellent service, turnover is quick so wait time on Sunday morning isn't too long. Small space but definitively worth it. We go here at least twice a month on Sunday morning for breakfast, just incredible!
The charm of this place is the speed of service, amazingly wonderful staff and just good solid regular food (sometimes in quantities that would do for 2 meals). This is not gourmet food but if you want a place that is clean, friendly, even fun (Asha is so much fun) and food that is completely yummy, you will not find a better place. They do not pretend to be fancy or "politically correct" when is comes to use of fat, seasonings, carbohydrates or size but when the world is falling apart around you, it is the best meal going. And when the world looks great, it is a great place to go for a fast meal before you go celebrating.
Very fast service and friendly staff. I would say the breakfast is more British-styled in the sense that it's all fried and not seasoned; the seasoning is up to you. The roast beef on a bun with bacon and cheddar is very good for lunch or dinner as well. The prices here cannot be beat, and no shame to the food either. Great place!
yuck. frozen burgers and chicken burgers, greasy fries, dirty tables, unimaginative menu. even for just a burger joint, i'd skip it.
