It was the '70s. Italian immigrant, Sandros Mariotti was tired of, and rather unsatisfied with, working in the construction industry. His real love was cooking (and his wife, Rose). He had quite a flair for molding perfect dishes in the kitchen, too. Rose and Sandros were the model husband-and-wife team in the kitchen. So, it's no wonder it was only a matter of timeandRose and Sandros Mariotti opened the family restaurant on October 6, 1979. Their son Rick was 9 at the time and remembers the long, grueling hours his parents worked out of love for their meticulous work. When he was a teenager, Rick was entrusted with dish washing and cooking before working his way up to management and eventually inheriting the business shortly after his father passed away in 1990. We are new to the Sault and could not be more disappointed. We went to Sandros tonight ( 10/20/18 ) and ordered a medium deluxe pizza w no mushrooms and a small chef salad. The dough was not even half done on the pizza, and the meat ( unidentifiable ) in the chef salad was pungent. If this is authentic Italian pizza...count us out. We will not go back nor recommend any one else to
