Great, fresh sushi. Ask Sato, the sushi chef and owner, for some of his special rolls that aren't on the menu. Try the red carpet roll and the Drew Barrymore handroll. Mmmmmmmmmm.
The service is friendly, without being pushy. The food was very good indeed. We have gone a couple of times and we are always pleased by the different dishes we try every time. The sushi is fresh, the noodles were great too. And the macha ice cream was delicious as well.
Asuka is a warm and charming restaurant.. I not only love the staff but also that food because its fresh and authentic. I cannot believe that I enjoy a great lunch for only 10 dlls or less.. its set lunch menu is not only affordable but also good portions. A soup, salad, main dish, fruit and green te for 10 dlls? Please dont hesitate to go to Asuka since you are going to have the best experience ever.. I recommend to ask for Red Carpet, Ninja, Dragon Red (not in the menu) I can assure you that you will find your own favorite dishes!
One of my favourite spots in the city. Those who complained about the service clearly did not pay attention to the button on each table that allows you to call your server over ("Press for Service"... kinda hard to miss...) I have never once had a problem with the service and eat there almost weekly. The food is fabulous - for a really great experience try sitting at the sushi bar and asking the Sushi chef Sato (who you will recognize from the pictures all around the restaurant) for an exciting roll. He will make up things that are not on the menu and if you're up for trying something new each of his special rolls is absolutely FABULOUS. Wonton soup is the best I have EVER had in my life. Salads and all other appetizers are fantastic. I recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.
Azuka is the best Japonese restaurant in Toronto. Who says different thing does not have any idea of a good Japonese food. The only thing that puts the decerases the rate is the service. That is true. But, to write about a "Rude Service/Hostess", that is ridiculous! Very nice, polite people. But a little disorganized sometimes. The truth is the food is wonderful. We go EVERY WEEKEND! The people that wrote bad rate reviews are one of these: concorrence people or people that do not have good taste, as the majority of Canadians. My name is Luciana and I approve this message.
Walked by Asuka around 8pm one evening and dropped after seeing their reasonable prices posted on their window. Were quickly seated at one of their cozy booths (I think there were only a couple of them), which was lucky because about 4 other groups came in right after us. We wanted to try the sushi since that is the benchmark of a good Japanese restaurant. It was wonderful! The spicy tuna rolls were great. It was also a nice touch that they brought us a warm wash clothe before the meal to clean our hands before eating. The soup was nice as well. The waitress didn't bother us much during the meal (which I thought was nice, although others may want more attention). The food was a great value, not over-priced at all and the atmosphere was very nice. We will be going there again for my wife's birthday.
The food is great! The service is fine. But overall I would give the resturant a 7.5 out of 10.
Serendipity led me here on a business trip and I was not dissapointed. Ask Sato for his special "ninjeru" (sp?)
The food is fresh and tastes great and it does not cost an arm and a leg. The staff are all very very friendly. I eat there all the time. Go early for lunch because it fills up very quickly - or better yet, make reservations.
Best restaurant in the world. Very friendly people working there and many famous go to "Asuka"
Great spot to visit for some delectable Japanese meal.

Asuka Japanese Restaurant offers some of the best sushi in Toronto in an immaculately decorated restaurant with a welcoming ambience. The ingredients are always fresh and the bento boxes, teriyaki and sashimi will make your mouth water. This dining hotspot is also the stomping grounds of plenty of celebs who find themselves in Yorkville – so you might even run into your favourite star here.
