Cobblers Corner

I have been taking my heels for touch ups and replacements to the Cobbler for years, and I LOVE him! He gets to it nice and quick, no chit-chat... work is done beautifully and affordable! He has also replaced a handle on a vintage purse for my friend, and replaced the heels on a pair of boots.

Horrid

I brought my very expensive riding boots in for something completely minor in the heel. He said to come back the next week but didn't take my phone number. I came to pick them up only to be told that he "forgot" what he was supposed to do on them, so he just "decided" to completely alter the tops. He was totally casual about it and when I expressed my horror, he said he would fix them and to pick them up the next day. The next day I picked them up and saw that he tried to fix his mistake by cutting out more leather, and using copious amounts of glue. Not only were they hideous, they no longer fit and were completely unusable. I had to take them somewhere else to be fixed, and while they fit now, the leather is permanently damaged. The other shop said it was some of the WORST work they have ever seen.
