Located in Kitsilano, wish.list boutique is a veritable treasure trove of what co-owner Alisa Folk calls "girly" stuff. "It's not that everything is pink and frilly," says Alisa, "but it's the type of store where you can find that special something for a girlfriend or female relative." Not to mention that "special something" for yourself!
Alisa opened the store with her Mom, Kathie, in 2009 after travelling and studying abroad. "I realized the variety of things that we couldn't get here in Vancouver," she explains, "and Mom and I decided to make it a joint venture." Together they brainstormed about items to sell and what the store would look like and moved quickly when a location became available in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. "We looked at downtown Vancouver and Yaletown," recalls Kathie, "but the atmosphere wasn't right for us. Here our customers are young moms, university students, professionals, people of all walks of life."
The store, open seven days a week, offers quality makeup with natural ingredients, nail care items, jewellery, locally designed cards and much more. Items can be bought online through the website and phone orders are welcomed. Know exactly what you want, but can't find it in the store? "We've taken a lot of special orders," says Alisa.
This cute little store on Broadway is perfect for gifts. Gorgeous designer hand bags and one off jewellry items you cannot find anywhere else. Strongly recommend it!
