Thumbs Down

The appetizer was good, however, both steaks were ordered medium and arrived rare, I had to send mine back. The waitress took too long to check food quality and our satisfaction with the meal once served so my steak sat uneaten and sliced down the middle. They re-grilled it and it was only marginally better. I didn't eat it all. Mashed potatoes on the menu aren't real so we ordered baked. Butter arrives in frozen small plastic 1" containers which is tacky. Plating the meal is rudimentary. The whole thing was bland. They don't have a chef, they have a cook and I do not recommend wasting your money here when there're so many other good choices to be made.

Never again!

The absolute worst experence I have ever had dinning out in my life! The day before my wedding we had a rehersal in the area, and being that I was not only the bride, but the person from Cambridge I was told the food choice was up to me for a party of 18. Previously I would go to this Crabby Joe's often for a night out. So everyone trusted my decision and headed there. Once we arrived at the restaurant I apologised for not making a reservation as it was not something that crossed my mind (you know, wedding and such the next day...) and the waitress said that it was fine as they were far from busy, and had tons of servers on. She seated us, and took our drink orders very quickly. This waitress was the only positive thing from our dinner. Once our drinks were brought over, I started to see waitress' leaving (and laughing about leaving work early because it was dead). Again it was not overly busy but making 1 person wait on an 18 top is a stupid move. She took our orders in a very well organized manner. Once our orders were in, she was very quick to come back for another round of drinks. Our appitizers came out in great timing, with the exception or our best man's calamari. When this finally came out it was over cooked, and almost cold. 20 minutes later another calamari came out, much the same as the last. Being hungry, it was eaten anyhow. Our waitress took yet another round of drink orders, as we had been there for just over an hour then. At this point I explaned to the waitress that it was closing in on 11pm. We all needed to go home and get some sleep, not to mention I need to be gone before midnight, so my husband and I wouldn't see each other on the wedding day, before the actual cerimony (yep I'm superstitious like that). She said she would check with the kitchen and see what was going on. My maid of honour also requested to speak with the manager, about the service and the already burnt appatizers. The manager who was sitting at a booth with 2 girls, chatting, and laughing, and seriously? That guy is working here? He hasn't moved from the booth the whole time I have been here. Reluctantly, with a heavy sigh and some eye rolling he managed to find his way over to talk to us. *Insert absolutely the most condecending tone ever* He spoke down to us like we were stupid and had no idea how ordering food works. He backed off quickly when I pointed out that 9 of the people in our party works as either cooks, or servers. So yes, we do know how ordering food works. At this point my Maid of Honour pointed out that her coffee was burnt, the calamari was burnt and cold, and that it seems more like they are interested in getting us drunk then feeding us. The only thing he cared about was the burnt coffee remark. Which he claimed was impossible because he made the coffee himself 3 hours ago, so its not burnt...... Really? (in restaurants that should go I'm very sorry ma'am, please allow me to get you a fresh one) Finally our food came out. Most of it was cooked properly, but the rest was burnt and ice cold. I ordered chicken fingers and as a fry cook I know when something has been double fired. These were more like tripple fired. Hard as a rock, and ice cold. I ate them anyhow, as it was close to 11:15 and I needed to get out of here. As soon as I saw our server I asked her to get the bills ready. She came back not long after, and every single bill was incorrect. We told her this, and she took them back to fix it. This time, our bills were delivered by what appared to be the dish kid. He just threw the bills on the table and tried to walk away. I picked up what I knew should have been my bill (according to the drinks) but it was still very much wrong. I called out to him, and he stomped back to the table and said "What?!" As angry as I was at this point, I told him very calmly that the bills are wrong, if they like we can all write down what belongs to whom, and

I like the cld beer (when they haven't run out) and the chicken quesadilla when on for half price apps. Not a place I'd take my kids but ok for a late night beer. They should make people go out the front door to smoke on the street. It's not fair to freeze us non-smokers in the bar while smokers go for a fix every five minutes. Just means I spend less money and drink my next beer at home.

Terrible! Will NOT return!!

This was my first time eating at Crabby Joes. I went with 3 other adults and 2 children on a Sunday around noon. The atmosphere was pleasant enough at first; like your typical Boston Pizza, right down to the limited, over-priced menu. However, almost immediately, I knew it was going to be a bad experience. As soon as we sat down to our booth, we noticed about 5 flies hovering around it, and they and more of their friends made sure to stick around for the duration of our stay. The restaurant was nearly empty so we figured we would receive fast service from our waitress but we were mistaken. She took nearly 5 minutes to even recognize that the hostess had seated us and another 5 minutes to return with our drinks. Of the 4 drinks we ordered, 2 were sent back. My water tasted unmistakably like soap and my friend's Sprite tasted like bland soda-water with a metal after-taste. Once we received our drinks, we had a 15 minute wait before the waitress returned to take our orders. (Did I mention there were maybe 3 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant?) My boyfriend and I ordered the cheese fries, chicken burger and I had the vegetable primavera, our friends ordered garlic loaf, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, a bacon cheese burger and a kids' chicken finger meal. We received our appetizers about 20 minutes later (which means we had already been there almost an hour...) and they were less than appetizing. The garlic loaf was drowning in a pool of grease on the skillet and the sour cream that came with our cheese fries was frozen with pieces of ice in it. We asked for a new sour cream and received a thin, soupy, micro-waved replica of the one we already had. Needless to say, we did not use it. Our meals and the kids' meal arrived another 25 minutes later and by then our friends' 2 year old son was getting pretty crabby himself. (Having worked as a waitress for years, I know it is customary to ask parents if they wish for their children's meals to be brought out earlier to keep them busy and not fussing.) This is where the real problems began. 1) My vegetable primavera was completely and utterly tasteless. The penne noodles felt overcooked and micro-waved, the vegetables were very sparse and flavourless and the "light cream sauce" could be more aptly described as "topped with olive oil and salt." I asked the waitress for some fresh parmesan to be sprinkled on top but, instead, she brought me a cup with a chunk of parmesan cheese in it. 2) The chicken on the burger was burnt and so small it took up maybe half the bun, if that. 3) The bacon cheese burger was also small in comparison to the bun and also tasted micro-waved, the bacon in particular was limp, greasy, and drowned in salt. The only dishes that were not burnt or still frozen were the chicken fingers. Throughout the process, our waitress was nowhere to be found. Our glasses (which we decided to refill with orange pop) sat empty for most of the meal, our ketchup bottle was empty and we were only given one crayon for 2 kids to colour with. My friend eventually tracked down another waitress who brought more crayons and ketchup, which we appreciated. We left nearly 2 hours later, still hungry, and without having received the kids' free dessert. Clearly, none of us will be returning after the unpleasant experience we had and we will all be sure to pass this advice onto our friends. Most upsettingly, it does not seem to be an isolated case. There were far too many unpleasant things for them all to be a coincidence. None of us enjoyed the food, the price, the flies or the slow, unfriendly service. Two thumbs down.

Can't Loose wioth 29 cent wings. Although the wings are fairly small, you can just buy more due to the price. My favourite is the thai or fire and ice wings. ( Note: The cheap wings are only on Tuesdays) There are tons of TV's in the bar and the staff are always quick with bringing drinks and food. Great Place to watch a Leafs game!
