I went to A l Mac's last year, and my family and I loved it. Im very shocked at these reviews, its almost like there fake. The food was good, it was very packed, but its not like they can control that. everything was warm and tastey. the drinks are expensive, but it is a tourist attraction after all. i went with my 7 siblings, cousin, and parents. the price was only 6.99. we're definately going again this year.
Do not go!! My husband & I went for what thought was a fairly basic buffet. For 6.99 what would anyone expect. Well I did not think our drinks would be more the the buffet!! Food was gross bacon so fatty I could not even look at it! I thought the yogurt was cottage cheese!! Service was very poor we sat forever waiting to pay only to find out that we had to bring bill to cashier. We found out because we asked a random kid!! I repeat DO NOT GO!
We brought our 1 year old to the restaurant with his own puréed food. As soon as we sat down we were told "if I catch that child eating one homefry off your plate I'm charging him as an adult" when asked what the problem would be with our child having a potato off our plate we were told "it's still food" I guess a potato is worth charging adult full price. Restaurant also provided us with a broken high chair which would definitely be a safety hazard. Would not recommend going there if you have children.
OK so apparently there are a lot of high maintenance people that try and go to this restaurant. If you look at the place and the sign from the outside, you can tell right away that your not going into a fancy place. This place is a fun night all around, live music playing, BBQ outside, it's a blast. The drinks are pricey for sure so look out for that but other than that the food is awesome!! My husband and I go all the time, at least 5-6 times a year and every time, and I mean EVERY time, we have a blast, leave stuffed and are so satisfied. We love the patio and live music and love love LOVE the BBQ ribs and food they serve there always. Everything we eat there is awesome and tastes soooo good. I think the other people reviewing this place are way too high maintenance and expect too much of a place that you're paying under $20 a person to eat at. It's an all around good time and I love the food. Don't go here if you are picky or too judgmental...some people are just too tightly wound!! You really just need to chill out and relax and stop being so critical! This is my favorite place in Niagara to eat, as well as my husbands...best place to go after a nice swim at the hotel and go out and have a relaxed night with good food and good people. It feels like a party there every time we go. Let your hair down people, Al Macs is the best place ever!
this place had potential but threw it away.....why? our waitress mess up our drink orders...they should fire the dishwasher the cooks everybody!!! the meatballs were too salty i could throw them on my driveway and watch snow melt , the fish was undercooked, chicken wings...my fingers are bigger then them. drinks well thats another story 4.25 and no free water..they offer frenbrook bottle water for $3 i can run to wal-mart and buy a case for the same damm price! dont be fooled by the nice looks!!! THIS PLACE IS NOT AT THE TOP OF MY LIST id rather settled for wendys of mc donalds!!
