Mr B's March House Restaurant

We have enjoyed going to Mr. B's when visiting Ottawa for a few years now. The food is always very good and last night was no exception. On our first visit the service was great but it seems that on every subsequent visit the service has gotten worse and worse. Our server last night was terrible, took my order for drinks and then ran off, my husband trailed her and asked for a drink. When she came running back with our drinks we placed our food order, you could hardly finish a word before she jumped in, the entire visit was like that. It felt rushed, was rushed and not comfortable. If our server would have just slowed down the experience would have been really nice. Our final bill was around $80 without tip.

Hidden delight

I would never have given this little restaurant a second glance had it not come with rave reviews from my sister in law. We went for a family dinner and my entire meal was one of the best I've had in years! Better than anything on Preston. I love it!

Service was slow; my plate of food had hair on it. A young lady in our party waited 2hrs for her plate of food to arrive, then to add insult to injury, she was charged full price for her meal. Total time to wait for food was over 1 hrs, total time waiting for food and bill 3 hrs. Would I go back or recommend this restaurant to a friend "NO"

Hidden Gem

I love this place. I have been at least 5 times with my boyfriend and mother and have always been impressed. The atmosphere is very intimate, not what you would expect given the location. Feels a lot like some of my favourite places on Preston. I've lived not far for years and not known about this place until recently. Always great food. Mushrooms caps, salmon, pastas, the tortellini is mine and my boyfriends favourite. Great job!

Totally reliable and excellent food

I eat here at least once a week, this is an authentic home made pasta restaurant and I have never been disappointed. Staff are very friendly and helpful

Major birthday disappointment

I had so looked forward out to my special day and was so incredibly disappointed. The zucchini was overcooked and greasy, the pasta in the linguine was horrid and the chicken so very overcooked I couldn't bite through it. When I gave my comments to the server she did say she would exchange or replace my dinner happily but I declined as my stomach was feeling very unsettled from the zucchini. She did try to appease me with a piece of birthday cake as well but I had had quite enough. Even though we got there early the service was extremely slow and not very attentive. Not would you expect from this kind of restaurant.

AMAZING

My fave little Italian restaurant... I go there about once a month. its all homemade pasta and sauce... they do an excellent job!! Their ceasar salad is the best I've ever had in my life! Their bread is so good... warm and fresh. Big meals for a good price!

My wife (Maureen, whom i love large :) and I have enjoyed this wonderfully warm (authentic paintings and rockin' booth seats candlelight) restaurant for at least 10 years now. We tend to frequent many restaurants in Ottawa and surroundings, but this one has the lot. Its been consistently exceptional. From friendly and knowledgeable service to the beautifully steamed homemade pastas. We love it. I know this may seem extreme but its our favorite. thanks.k.out. jamie

This is a very nice restaurant relative to others in the Bank and Hunt Club area. However, when Mr. B's is compared to other Italian restaurants such as those on Preston street, it is very average in terms of food and service. For example, I've never found myself pouring my own wine at a Preston street Italian restaurant.

The location is very deceiving as it's found it a stripmall. Inside the ambiance is very cozy and pleasant. The food is absolutely delicious as everything is made from scratch and very fresh. We dine their at least once a month and we have taken many friends and family members to eat there. Everyone is always very impressed with the food and service. YOu have to try it!
