Northwood is a hip candle-lit bar with a killer patio at the corner of Bloor and Crawford Streets. With a great craft selection on tap and in bottles, Northwood’s happy hour runs from 5 pm to 7 pm every day, with $2 off all beers. It’s a great chance to try some sours; Northwood’s made it their mandate to stock tasty, tart and always-unique brews.
Cocktails, craft beer and coffee are the words that Northwood lives by. The cocktails are a selection of clever twists on classic drinks like the Tiki Old Fashioned, alongside coffee-based cocktails and traditional drinks. If you want to take some Northwood home with you, you can head across the street to the general store where they sell a selection of coffee and tea as well as kitschy décor and accessories.
This hybrid café and cocktail bar was one of the first spots in Toronto to bring in the trendy cold brew coffee, working with the locally based Two Bears brewers. The modern tavern – complete with exposed brick walls and amber-hued architectural lighting – is the ideal spot for a cold-brewed concoction by day or specialty craft beer by night. Pick it up to-go and enjoy at home all week.
