“You must be crazy! Why didn’t you set up in a more central neighbourhood?”
Annie Clavette, co-owner of Le Gras Dur in the Villeray-St-Michel neighbourhood, is proud of her answer: “The local clientele is exceptional and nearby development projects are very promising!”
Le Gras Dur restaurant is located just a stone’s throw away from the former Miron Quarry, where the largest park in Montreal - the Frédéric-Back Park - was built. This environmental complex offers a host of activities and events for both young and old, the sporty and curious, foodies, and those in search of relaxation or contemplation.
“In short,” Annie explains, “we're at the crossroads of everything – the best of everything the neighbourhood has to offer!”
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, this Villeray locale serves up all-you-can-eat poutine, chicken wings, and pulled pork. We’re not sure we even need to go on here, but if that weren’t enough, the unlimited comfort food is yours for just $20. They offer plenty of other menu options but when chicken wings are unlimited, does it even matter?
Le Gras Dur Burger – 2 C.A.B beef patties stuffed with peanut butter and Sriracha, cheese, Pretzel bun, wrapped in bacon, fried pogo style and drenched in Nacho Cheese sauce, served with choice of fries or salad. $18
The Tousqui poutine certainly lives up to its reputation. It includes fries, cheese curds and gravy (from a base of veal, beer, bacon and caramelized onions), plus Swiss Emmental-stuffed smoked sausages, chicken schnitzel and braised cabbage.
