Christiane Bouchard smiles and still sounds a bit surprised when she describes how the hairdressing profession chose her, since she originally wanted to be a beautician. But from her very first course at beauty school in Montreal, she began to realize she disliked esthetics and loved hairstyling. Just like magic, she seemed to excel at everything tonsorial.
After graduation, Christiane worked in a few hair salons and ended up contacting a friend who owned a salon. She began working there and a few months later, the owner decided to sell the business so she could stay at home with her two young children. On a bit of an impulse, Christiane bought the salon and in 1986, became the new owner of Atelier de la Coupe.
