On a tour of the mill today with a little group from Kerrisdale Seniors Centre I learned how a log becomes saleable lumber for commercial customers to refine further for their purposes. It was a privilege to see the expertise of all the staff - something like choreography. Each person knew what he was doing and why before passing the wood to the next part of the operation. Their knowledge, skill, and efficiency (strength and stamina)are admirable (astounding to me).
