This is the 3rd and final strike for this place. My wife and were there at 7pm on Oct 23 and seated after about 5 minutes. It was busy so that was pretty good. From that point we were left sitting for 15 minutes before I finally went to the counter to ask to be served. The "Hostess" came over and took our order and some tea showed up about 5 minutes later. Long story short, after trying to pace our order 3 times, and being to "so sorry, place very busy", we got up and left. This is the 3rd time in a row we have received lousy service here. What a shame as the food is actually pretty decent. There are enough Sushi places in the area that we can get food just as good without the aggravation. So long W Sushi!
Wsushi is on par with all the best Japanese restaurants I have eaten at the USA and Canada over the last 40 years. First class food, great pricing (all you can eat), friendly prompt service....everything you would expect from a family owned and operated restaurant. I have eaten at Wsushi at least 12 times and recommend it to friends all the time. I also use there Take Out on their website...handy.
My first experience here was for my birthday. We had 12 friends and we called in a reservation 2 days before. We arrived on time but some of our friends were coming from far away and were 15 mins late. In that time, the staff started harassing us about giving up the table! We were slightly upset. Luckily the rest of our party arrived just in time. We proceeded to order but again, staff wanted us to order in small groups instead of ordering for the whole table, which is not how we have done it before. Once we got that settled, we dug in. Lots of choice on the menu, tons of sushi, maki and other treats. We will come here again for the amazing food, but beware the bad service!
My family went here for dinner. There were five of us when we arrived and sat down. We ordered from the all you can eat menu, but before the food came my son left with my grandson to go to the park since he didn't want to eat. The waitress wrote down 5 people, but we didn't notice that until we got the bill. They then charged us for 5 all you can eat dinners. We said there were only 4 of us, one of us left and didn't come back. The waitress said that we were 5 and that was the rule. The manager said we had to pay the full amount for 5 people. But there were only 4 of us eating, we said. They would not back down. We won't be going back there. We've done a similar thing at Hockey Sushi because the 15-month old baby can't sit for that long and it's never been an issue there. Terrible end to the night.
We stopped in for the $13 lunch. I haven't had a lot of sushi, so I can't offer comparisons. For us, however, the experience and the value were outstanding, and the food was very good. The service was very prompt, and the waitress was helpful. We were particularly impressed with presentation of the "chinese" items (the flipside of the menu is for non-sushi eaters - soups, noodles, rice, vegetables, etc.). A great place for people to expand their palates if they're not sure about sushi yet, or have a limited exposure to it (which was all of us); also a great place to bring a group with varying tastes. Ambiance was warm in a modern way.
