Baseball Grizzle

Went there to celebrate with old friends. We use to have all of our special occasions at this place, but after this night we resolved to not go again. The cuts of steak were just terrible. They were cooked the way that we asked, they got that right - but we were leaving 30-40% of our steak on the plate because it was inedible - just too much grizzle and fat. It was a first for me to send a steak back to the kitchen, but I took encouragement from the rest of my party and even the waitress that it would be safe. The replacement for my baseball steak that came out had even more grizzle - it was disgusting. Not to let it ruin my night, I reasoned that between the two steaks full of grizzle I had consumed enough meat to constitute a single quality cut. Talk about compromise. The prices of the steaks have gone up too - which means that if you have paid $30 for a steak and have to leave 40% of it on the plate because it is grizzle - then you have overspent $12. The other food and bread bowl was excellent. The bar still makes the best Daiquiris anywhere. I would return for the bar, but never for steaks.

Really good but price is up

They dont skimp on the meat and they buy the best cuts. The order is exactly what you tell them it should be. As always you come out full. Waitress was gorgeous and had a nice body. The wine was really not that expensive. The food itself added up tho. The wait was a little long tho.

Yum!

I've eaten at many "Keg's" over the years, but I must say that my experience at the Mansion location was the best. First off, the atmosphere is unique, as it is in the mansion. The food was great, had a perfectly cooked steak, great potatoes too. Their caesar salad is nothing amazing, but nice. Great cocktails, although maybe slightly overpriced, but the service and the atmosphere make up for that. Nice desserts...not homeade I don't think, but great and fresh nonetheless.

Very nice dining!

The Steaks are good here but I really think the price can be lowered.

Haunted hotspots in Toronto

Haunted hotspots in Toronto

Not just a popular eatery, this famed steakhouse also serves up some seriously scary ghost stories. The prominent Massey family owned the Jarvis Street mansion back in the early 1990s and there have been a number of accounts suggesting that some family members are still residing there. Ghostly children can also be heard running and playing on the upper floors and in the kitchen and an apparition of the family’s former maid has been spotted hanging from a noose above the main foyer in the restaurant. Ask the staff to see a binder detailing the frightening occurrences at the restaurant.
