Good service, good wine selection, but frankly, the pasta meal we were served was not to the hight of our expectation. Tomato sauce is very simple; looked like straight from a can, without any specific flavor. The italian sausage was of low quality. Way over priced for that plate. The decor consists of floor to ceiling windows; good idea but all you see is the parking lot! Never the charm of a warm italian decor. On the other hand, the Veal plate was good. The calamari starter was fair.
We had our 25th Wedding anniversary party here with about 25 guests. With that many people, our menu was limited to 3 pre-selected choices; Veal Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala and Grilled Salmon, with a garden salad and iced desert. The staff was very attentive, but not bothersome. Without exception, everyone raved about the food, and everything was presented in a appealing and timely manor. We have eaten there many times before with 2 to 8 people and have never been disappointed. They have a decent wine list, and even their house wine is a good choice. Dinner, including drinks, wine, desert, & coffee, will probably run you about $45 per person. Make reservations though. It can get busy on the weekends.
I have been to Napoli's before with friends and we had a lovely time. Looking back now it was due to the waitress we had. Eva was wonderful. My girlfriends and I were having a night out. I suggested Napoli's because I had enjoyed it in the past. Huge mistake! The waitress was missing in action for most of the night. Tables that had arrived over an hour after us were served their food first. Any time we wanted anything we had to flag people down. This included placing our order, getting more drinks... We eventually gave up. When the party of 18+ (who arrived after us) got their food ahead of us I asked to speak to the manager. He was, I am assuming, one of the owners. I say assuming, because he certainly did not act like it. He was very flippant about the service. He told me the large table's order went in the same time as ours... And, of course they took care of the large table first... I had never heard of that before. And, I dine out a lot. On top of that he told me other tables arriving after us were served first because they were older and they were "crusty" (his exact words). So, they needed to be served first. I was incredibly insulted. We waited over an hour-and-a-half for our food. And, only after I complained was it even addressed that it was late. The "owner" asked me what he could do to make me happy. I told him that we shouldn't have to pay for our meals. He basically snubbed me and told me I was being unreasonable and he would pay for one drink for each of us. He said a $9.00 drink was more than enough to make up for the lateness of the food. I disagreed and refused to allow him to pay for one of my drinks. It took him three tries (and an additional 15 minutes) to get my bill right. I was extremely disappointed in Napoli's and I will never eat there again. I was embarrassed to have suggested it to my friends and I will not do it again in the future.
This used to be one of my favourite place to eat..... not anymore!! Although the atmosphere is good at this restaurant, the food is way too salty, impossible to eat it. Maybe the manager should be more sympathetic when patrons leave 3/4 of their food in their plates and state it is not edible. I will never return to this restaurant, especially when having to pay for food I do not eat due to the poor way it was prepared.
The atmosphere is great. The decor was beautiful. Service was great. Great selection of wine. The food not so good. It was not authentic at all. The oil on the caprese salad had a, sitting on the counter for a really long time, taste to it. The Caesar Salad was definitely Renee's Caesar dressing, had I of known this I would have stayed home and made my own salad. The Calamari came cold and extremely rubbery. 4 out of the 6 ordered this dish. All had the same complaint. The 6th person was my 8 month old son. They had a beautiful high chair to offer, and the waitresses also offered to rock him as it was close to his bedtime and he was getting cranky. My husband ordered the lamb and it was tasty but it wasn't Italian. My parents had the same complaint, it wasn't authentic. My father is Italian, from Napoli - he was not happy! Overall, I won't go back. Obviously it's the food that makes you want to go back to a place, however it was a beautiful, clean restaurant and child friendly.
